I have information that John Ward III from Cecil County and Elizabeth Wilson from Kent Island were married in 1765 and lived in Cecil County. They had children: Robert Ward b. 9/12/1765, Joshua Ward b. 7/31/1769, George Ward b. 4/19/1778 and Deborah Ward b. 1/15/1781. I took quick notes while visiting the Historical Society in Elkton this summer and Robert, Joshua and George appear as landowners 1795-1807. I'm particularly interested in knowing which property was owned by John Ward III. He appears on the 1790 Fed. Census for Cecil County in Bohemia Hundred. Does anyone know what property they owned and where it was located? I know that Robert married Mary Sudler, daughter of Colonel Emory Sudler and practiced medicine at Sudler's Cross Roads, Queen Anne's county, MD. As a second question... A John Ward IV appears on the Index of the Assessment of 1783 but I'm not sure if he's actually related to John Ward III or not. Does anyone know anything about this John Ward IV?? I'm also interested in Col John Ward (possibly son of John) who married Sarah Walmsley 22 March 1786 and may have also married Elizabeth Pennington. This is NOT (obviously) the Col John Ward (abt 1666-abt 1747) who married Mary and who owned Ward's Knowledge and Greenfield. Any and all help with these families would be appreciated! I just haven't had a chance lately to get back to the Historical Society or to any other good places for research.
