    3. It has been so long since I've ordered a Deed from Cecil cnty, MD that to be truthful I've forgotten where to send for them. I'm sure someone on the list can better advise you. In a pinch you can go to http://www.usgenweb.com Click on States, Click on Maryland, Click on Counties, Click on Cecil cnty, from there look for instructions on where to order copies of what. I would also suggest you invest in an ADC Street Map Book for Cecil cnty, MD. These are EXCELLENT for taking you close in to the area you are looking. If I remember correctly they are online. A google search should bring up their URL. ADC The Map People. I have their street map books for Cecil cnty, MD and Chester & Delaware cntys, PA and have no idea how I got along without them while researching my genealogy for locations. I was able to pinpoint an ancestor's tract of 1000 acres SW of Elkton at Locust Point. If you are REALLY serious about locating exact tracts of land owned by your ancestors I would suggest purchasing DEEDMAPPER. Its a piece of software that lets you map out a tract of land using even just rods and perches from a river or other landmark. About $100. Again, they are online and you can find them via a google search. There is even a DeedMapper mailing list where you can get assistance using the program or learn to fine tune it or use its finer points. You don't have to buy their maps, there is advice on the mailing list where to get the free and/or cheaper US government maps that can be utilized by DeedMapper to construct and plot "your" tract of land. There is a project going on now where someone or several someones are trying to plot out all the original and early land patents and tracts in VA. Its fascinating, as you can start at a landmark such as a river and if one of the plot descriptions is so many rods or perches to an oak tree you can insert the oak tree in its proper position! Neat program.
