Hi Everyone, I've never done anything with military records and don't really know how to go about it. An ancestor fought in the War of 1812. I've seen mention of his wife applying for something (military pension?) after his death in the book MD Militia, War of 1812, Volume 3, Cecil and Harford Counties by F. Edward Wright. Where can I write to get info. about his service? Would there be an actual copy of the wife's application that I could get a photocopy of? What else would there be to request?
