Melissa I have sent you, in a separate email, the NARA web site where you can order or download the forms you need. I have found that pension requests usually contain more information than service records. There are copies of the pension request and usually letters from other people justifying her request. An ancestor fought in the War of 1812. I've seen mention of his wife applying for something (military pension?) after his death in the book MD Militia, War of 1812, Volume 3, Cecil and Harford Counties by F. Edward Wright. Where can I write to get info. about his service? Would there be an actual copy of the wife's application that I could get a photocopy of? What else would there be to request? Thanks for any help or suggestions.
