    1. [MDCECIL] Emey Husbands/John Husbands

    3. Hi! I actually found the name Emey Husbands in the 1800 Henderson County, KY tax list, right next to John Husbands. Going to the 1810 census, you will still find John in the county, but this time there is no Emey listed. However, if you check the 1810 census, you will find John Husbands, the household at that time containing two females over the age of 45. Could one of them have been Emey? John Husbands had a daughter named Emey. Marriage records indicate that she married a man named Evans Bennet. Check the 1810 Henderson census. You will find Evans Bennet. (A few households away is someone named William Allen.) Evans Bennet can be found in both the 1820 and 1830 Henderson censuses. John, on the other hand, disappears from Henderson after 1810, but a John Husband shows up in Brown County, OH in 1820 and 1830. His widow remains alive in 1840. Was this John identical with the one in Henderson? I suspect so, but all I can go by now is that the two of them match in age categories. I can say a couple of other things on the presence of Herman's descendants in Henderson. Husband Kimmel, the commander of Pearl Harbor in 1941, was from Henderson, KY. He was the grandson of Phoebe Husband. A far weaker piece of evidence is something passed down in my family. My part of the family is reputed to have moved to VA (current day WVA), then to KY, and then to Ohio where my family definitely was present in both Muskingum and Licking counties. My third gr grandfather James and his two brothers Andrew and William lived and worked in those counties. William lived to 1886, and died in Licking County. There you have it. Why was she in OH. if that is her? I suspect the John on the tax list was one of her sons. Of course, I could be wrong. I also have seen some claims that the John in Henderson died in 1812, but nobody I know has any evidence for it. Thanks again for the response!
