    3. Shirley, The book was titled "History of Cecil County, Maryland". It was published by George Johnston in 1881. It was included in a book "Cecil County" in a series County Directories of Maryland in 1956. I bought a copy in 1980. His section on the Rudulph family begins "Away back in the early part of the last century, so far back, indeed, that the time is very uncertain, a distinguished family appeared in Cecil County, and for many years acted a conspicuous part of its history, being prominent as merchangs, soldiers, and jurists." So his discussion starts with the early 1700s. Sometime mid-century Hanse' life ended with the Bloody Holly Bush murder. Tobias reportedly leased land in Elkton and ran a business near Elk Landing. He built a brick house in Elkton in 1768. The discussion covers family participation in the Revolutionary War but does not seem to extend into the 1800s. 3. Thanks Roland, I need to know about some of the Rudulph children that were born ca 1788 and forward. My connection comes in about the early 1800's. I'd like to know about a Henry Rudulph and William Rudulph that are found in Upper Darby, Delaware in the 1820 census. I want to know if these men had children. 3. Shirley, Since names of children are not in the early census records it is hard to tell. Per the census, William had three younger males in his household.
