He was commonly called Peter Petersson Smith to distinguish him from another Peter Petersson (who went by Peter Petersson Caupony). Some of Peter Petersson Smith's ancestors went by the surname Smith. I do not know who was Peter PETERSON senior's wife, Catherina. Does anyone have that? If these's another connection between Hans PETERSON and Hendrich STEDHAM, I would be interested to know it. Catherine (or Katherine or Karin) was the widow of Adam Stedham, another son of Timen Stiddem. Her son was Hendrich/Henry Stedham, who would be Peter Petersson Smith, Sr.'s step-son. Another step-son, Timothy Adamsson Stedham, married Peter Petersson Smith, Sr.'s sister, Engelkie (Angelica) as her second husband. Peter Petersson Smith, Jr. married Anna Stedham, daughter of Benedictus Stedham and cousin of Henry and Timothy and Margaret Stedham. David R. Stidham
