Hi Folks: I have had requests for my source of info and the reasons for the Martyrs, so here it is: A friend who lives in U.K. did the research for the names etc. They are in the public records there available for anyone. While records for the period of late 1500 thru 1600's are scant, they kept meticulous records of who was arrested, put to there stake, hanged etc. The entire basis of all of this was the Scots were continually taking battle to the English and mostly losing (the longbow vs. the pike) and the battle of Bothwell is an example of this. The other factor was King James 6th of Scotland was Catholic, however many of his subjects were Presbyterians and when they were caught reading their bible or attending services they were punished. James the 6th became King James 1st of the united kingdom, but in 1690 he was overthrown by William of Orange who became the first Protestant king. Gordon
