    2. gordon crooks
    3. Hi Folks: I have had requests for my source of info and the reasons for the Martyrs, so here it is: A friend who lives in U.K. did the research for the names etc. They are in the public records there available for anyone. While records for the period of late 1500 thru 1600's are scant, they kept meticulous records of who was arrested, put to there stake, hanged etc. The entire basis of all of this was the Scots were continually taking battle to the English and mostly losing (the longbow vs. the pike) and the battle of Bothwell is an example of this. The other factor was King James 6th of Scotland was Catholic, however many of his subjects were Presbyterians and when they were caught reading their bible or attending services they were punished. James the 6th became King James 1st of the united kingdom, but in 1690 he was overthrown by William of Orange who became the first Protestant king. Gordon

    1. [MDCECIL] New Castle Co. Del. Land Records on CD
    2. ......(Note: I have informed the Administrator of this list that this will be a one-time announcement. Please do not reply to this list, but direct any inquiries to me personally) This is to Announce that six of the New Castle Co. Delaware Land Record books are now available on two CD-Roms's. They are for IBM-PC, and use the Adobe Reader, which can be downloaded free. CD #1 contains three books covering recording dates August 1728 - June 1752. It contains Deed Books I1, K1, L1, M1, N1 and Q1 with 508 pages CD #2 contains three books covering recording dates May 1755 - March 1770. It contains Deed Books S1, T1, U1, W1, X1 and Y1 with 758 pages. The Book containing recorded dates June 1770 - Feb 1777 is also available. It contains Deed Books Z1 and B2 with 302 pages. These are all remaining available recorded deeds between August 1728 - February 1777. Deed book R1 is lost, containing recorded dates July 1752 - April 1755. Deed book A2 is also missing, containing recorded dates July 1773 - July 1774. These were very likely taken by the British in 1777, as later Replacement Deeds stipulate. Separately, both the CD's and the book are priced at $22.00 each plus $2.50 S/H. (Two or more at $20.00 each plus $3.00 S/H.) These are great research tools as many of the records mention relationships and history. Names of many reference ties to Chester Co. Pa., Philadelphia and Cecil Co.Md. Please contact me privately for further information -- Not on the list. Thank you, cgarr34@aol.com

In 1668, he also received authority to buy Indian land in New Jersey, but sold his interest to Jons Gustafsson (#72) in 1675. Olle remained at Marcus Hook, his name frequently appearing in the Upland and Chester court records.
