Tim, If you have a Kilgore in Lancaster or York Co.'s, they are mine and yes, if they are married to a Barnett. Also, looking for Joseph Alexander who is probably buried in Drumore Twp., Lancaster Co. and a Robert A. Kilgore who married Agnes Mundorff who is more than likely buried in Lancaster Co. I'm interested in finding more information about the Harlan Mill that was in Leeds. Anyone have any information about this? What kind of mill was it? Where was it located? Were the stone houses there by Leeds Cemetery mill houses? Any interesting facts would be appreciated. Thanks! Dear Alan, Appreciate what you're doing. I have been reviewing some of your posts on Cecil Co., MD. I particularly liked your post on MD Calendar of wills. I wonder if you can purchase the book? I have studied Hendricks for years and have started trying to sort thorugh all the MD Hendricks. Cecil Co., MD has a connectivity to the Hendicks and Kirkman families. We do DNA testing and have one Hendricks who went into NC. We have one James Hendricks record abt 1740 says born on Gunpowder but have never been able to trace his family backward. Think he might have been one of the sets of Hendricks (4) into Newberry Co., SC 1750-1760-1770.. The Odells are from MD and came into lLaurens Co., SC 1750-60s. One Eleanor Hendricks m into the John Odell Family who came from MD. So I wonder if you know of anyone in MD or elsewhere that has cataloged all the MD Hendricks and variants? I'm well aware of Davenport's work on PA and some associations into MD. Or do you know a Hendricks researcher from MD? Would be interested in a contact or some direction. MD Archives seems not to have much on line informaiton and is hard to find a set of data for each county. I've been thinking of going up there for a few days and look over the records. Are there easlily searchable records or is everything on micorfilm? Thanks for anything you have to offer. Thomas Jordan was born in Ireland; arrived 1760 in America and settled in Hopewell, York Co, PA. He died 8 Nov 1819 in Hopewell, York Co, PA. He married some time later to a girl from Cecil Co, MD by the name of HOOD. I do not have her first name or any vitals on either of them. Born to then was a son, JOHN JORDAN. Apparenlty the Hood girl died because he married a second time to an Ann Steele or Dixon. I apologize for knowing so very little about any of these families, but if you are searching any of the surnames I've mentioned who lived after 1760 in either Cecil or York Counties, MD please contact me at rjthoden@juno.com

Hello, I am trying to find out information about the family of Enos T Wood and Francina McCauley Wood. They were married in 1837 in Cecil Co. and appear to have been living in Leeds. Francina was the daughter of Henry McCauley. Their children were Covington Wood, Henry Wood , John Wood, Mary Wood, and Adeline Wood. I would love any information about these folks. 9 YEARS AND GOING STRONG SAVE THIS DATE--- SUNDAY APRIL 29th 9th Annual Norwood Reunion Sunday April 29 2006 Our Norwood database is getting BIGGER every year but YOUR information maybe just what someone else is looking to find. Since the Norwood family married into so many Maryland families, you may not find a Norwood cousin but you WILL FIND COUSINS. I personally have found two lines of cousins that are not part of my Norwood lineage. No games, no auctions, just a fun genealogy-family connecting time! People bring their laptops, the group sheets, the binders and spread out and share information. We have 8--30 plus feet long charts and are adding more this year. Come find yourself and many more relatives. Even if you just think you might meet another non-Norwood cousin--You are welcome to come! PASS THE WORD. LET EVERYONE KNOW. COME EARLY DOORS OPEN AT 2:00 PM There will be refreshments before dinner. Dinner at 5:00 PM catered by Mountain Gate of Thurmont, Maryland The Fire Activities Building Twin Arch Rd. and Rt. 27 Mt Airy Maryland $14.00 per person. Send money for reservations by April 13th TO: Mary Norwood 4115 Harrisville Road Mt. Airy MD 21771-8211. Make checks payable to Mary Norwood. norwoodreunion@ourmarylandfamilies.com We again will have a digital camera, lap top computer, and scanner. We still want the old photos of individuals or group family photos and some present day ones also especially if they can't attend. Obits wedding birth or death announcements are also very important for filing in the pieces. Do you have a pile of unidentified pictures? Bring them along too. Maybe we can find family resemblances! Thank you Mary. That was very helpful. I especially appreciate the reference in the MSA for the Hack transportation. > Please note there is no Accomack County in Maryland. Part of that county became part of Maryland after a boundary change, I forget what year. > Hackston 800 acres; Sepherin Hack - > 1666 - This date (1666) of the "Hackston" patent has recently been changed to 1658. Severijn Hack died in April 1661. George Hack must have inherited "Hackston" by 1662. It would be great to see the originals of these records. Thanks again for the help. Liz J

"The Early Settlers of Maryland" by Gust Skordas states that Sefryn Hack was transported to Maryland in 1658. Sefryn was described as the brother of Dr. George Hack who also immigrated to Maryland in 1658. Dr. George died prior to 1665, leaving a widow, Ann who married - Bool of Virginia, Doctor in Physick. The reference for both of these entries is Liber 4 folio 17 which is Volume 4 of the Maryland Patent series - originals located at the Maryland State Archives in Annapolis. Sefryn and George are the only individuals with the Hack surname in this reference book. "Inhabitants of Cecil County, Maryland 1649 - 1774" compiled by Henry C. Peden lists naturalizations on page 32 as follows: Naturalized May 1, 1666 Anna Hak born in Amsterdam, Holland; Greorge and Peter, both sons of Anna and born in Accomacke, Virginia. Under Land Patents and Certificates (same source), there is George Hack- 1662 - Hackston 800 acres; Sepherin Hack - 1666 - Hackston - 800 acres; John Nicholas Hack - 1676 - Hackston - 800 acres; Peter Hack - 1684 - Hack's Addition - 150 acres Iron Hill is located just south of I-95 at Newark, Delaware - and near the Maryland-Delaware border. Please note there is no Accomack County in Maryland. Hope this will be of some help.
