    3. Dear Cathy, Sorry, I can't help with your Evans line. I only included that reference to tie Robert more firmly to Cecil County. I have no Evans ancestors in any of the lines I have researched. If I come across any more I'll try to let you know but most of my lines were in St. Mary's County. Regards, Don Cathy Berger <[email protected]> wrote:I've been working on Cecil County records for many, many years, but have not gone back as far as you evidently have. Sorry I can't help you on your Drury. It's a new name to me. But I am interested in your mention of Thomas Evans. I have a Jonathan Evans as an adult in 1703 and am always looking for clues as to his parents. 3. Dear List, This is my first posting to this list. I am trying to identify a Robert Drury who was a witness to the will of Michael Skidmore along with Francis Childs 28 July 1693. This Robert was also sent to Colonel Casparus Herman's plantation at the "head of the bay" to identify a Frenchman claiming to be a Monsieur Casteen since Robert had been fighting the French and the Penobscots previously in New England. He was deposed about this by the Provincial Council in 1692 (Md. Archives Vol 61: Pgs 458-61,463,467,468.487,517). It is possible that this is the Robert who received a payment from the estate of Thomas Evans in 1692. Does anyone have additional information about this man? What was the name of his plantation? Was he married ? If so, who was his wife and what were the names of his children? Where was his plantation located? Who were his neighbors? When did he arrive in Cecil County? Where was he from originally? I will greatly appreciate any information or leads to answer these questions. I have been going on the assumption that he was an unidentified son of the Robert Drury from St. Mary's County who patented "Dry Docking" Plantation in 1663. 1. [MDCECIL] Reynolds Family of Cecil County-web site
    2. The site is good regarding the Reynolds family. But there are many not listed. Addison was not the only child of James - and we don't know where James is buried or when he died. James was not the only son of Levi and Jane (King) And Sam was not the only son of Sam and Susannah Sidwell. The brick wall for James is who he married in approx. 1816 - his first child was Matilda born in 1817 in MD. Where in MD can not find. Matilda married Thomas Bucy in Holmes County OH and became the step mother to Sarah Bucy the wife of Matilda's brother Addison. Addison and Sarah moved to Indiana and then to IL. Addision died in IL in 1879, His oldest Son James it is told went to NE because there was family land. I did find a James Reynolds in NE - born in OH he was in NE in 1857 and listed in the NE Territory. I think this was either the brother of Addison because he had a brother James listed in OH in 1850 born in 1831. Which also means their father James was remarried because he had no wife listed in the 1830 census in OH. On land records his wife's first name is Prudence. Another brick wall - have not found a marriage in Holmes county. James' brother and his wife Lydia also went to Holmes county. Lewis was his name and he died in 1829. Lydia was listed in 1830 census without a husband. She married John Turner in 1831. Her children lived with them until late in their adult life. Their names were Levi, Thomas, Samuel - traditional names. [email protected] - formerly Reynolds from NE - currently in OH for 35 yrs.

    3. Louann, Your problem isn't that you are getting older. I think it's the software. Adobe Acrobat is the software that creates PDF files and Adobe charges money for it. Most of us only have Adobe Acrobat Reader, which comes free on the internet and with many software packages. But Acrobat Reader is not the same as Acrobat. From my observation, Acrobat Reader does not normally let you save a PDF file, even when you see it on the screen. There may be different versions. I have been able to save a PDF file open in Netscape on the internet to my hard drive. But when I open it from my hard drive in Acrobat Reader, there is no save option and no diskette on the toolbar that Robert mentions below. Adobe would like us to buy Acrobat, or subscribe to the feature Robert mentions. This is how software companies make their money. For information, Family Tree Maker's latest Version 10 advertises that it allows you to save genealogy charts as PDF files that can be easily read by others. That is a new feature and they have probably paid Adobe for the right to include that feature. There may be more complexities to this than I have figured out, but I am pretty sure your problem is from this issue.
