The library is 50 East Main Street and St. John's Catholic Cemetery is at 49 Monroe Street so it's not the one behind the library. I've never been able to figure out or remember what the name of the cemetery is that's behind the library. Westminster Cemetery is at 17 North Church Street so I don't think it's that one?? I just called the library and the very helpful assistant said that St John's Catholic is the one behind the library as the original St John's church was once located where the library is now, so hopefully they're right. I figured they would know since it's right behind them. The 1873 Atlas shows a Catholic Cemetery in that Main Street location though there is no name mentioned; apparently there was also a church school there in addition to the church. St. John's High School is on Monroe St. though, so maybe that's where the confusion lies. -Mary >Kathi Jones-Hudson >MD Tombstone Transcription Project Manager >http://www.rootsweb.com/~cemetery/maryland/maryland.html > > > >____________________________________________________________________________________ >Do you Yahoo!? >Everyone is raving about the all-new Yahoo!
