Bankert The Evening Sun Monday, Feb. 13, 1978 York-Adams Deaths Clarence O. Bankert, 80, formerly of 47 Prince St., Littlestown, died Saturday at 5;45 p.m. at the Golden Age Nursing Home. Son of the late George and Martha Dutterer Bankert, he was married to the late Lillian Lemmon Bankert, who died in 1939. He was a member of St. Paul�s Lutheran Church, Littlestown, Brotherhood bible Class, and Church Council; Door to Vortue Masonic Lodge No. 46 and Carroll Royal Arch No. 31, Westminster, Md.; Bethel Commandery No. 98; York Forest No. 30, Tall Cedars of Lebanon POSA Littlestown; IOOF No. 124, Gettysburg; Littlestown Senior citizens, and AARP No.669. He is survived by his wife, Esther Rudisill Bankert; one daughter, Mrs. Marion b. Michael, Bloomington, Ind.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Jean W. Nafzinger, Fairfax Station, Va.; four brothers, John A. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening, where the senior citizens will hold a services at 7:15 p.m. Elva Marie Sterner Obituary--Mrs. Harry Sterner--Mrs. Elva Marie Sterner, 63, wife of Harry Philip Sterner, German St., Abbottstown, died Sunday at 12:50 a.m. in Memorial Osteopathic Hospital, York, where she was a patient several days. Mrs. sterner's first husband, Ray O. Garrett, died May 15, 1951. Born in Carroll County, Md., she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Cora Berwager Bankert. she was a member of God's Missionary Chruch and was employed at the Brethren Home, Cross Keys. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Reedy, 170 W. Kings St., Abbottstown; a son, James R. Garrett, Hanover R.D.3; a stepson, Robert P. The body will lie in state Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Zinn- Bankert 1954 The wedding of Miss Lorraine Mae Bankert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul P. Bankert, 102 Wayne Avenue, to Charles Edward Zinn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice E. Zinn, Hanover R. D. 1, took place yesterday at 2:30 p.m. in St. Paul�s (Dub�s) Church, Hanover R. D. 2. The double-ring ceremony was performed by candlelight before an altar decorated with white flowers and palms, by the Rev. Harvey M. Light, pastor of the West Manheim Reformed Charge. The soloist, Miss Lucy Sell, east Berlin R. D. 2, was accompanied by Mrs. George Zinneman, church organist, who also played the wedding marches. Escorted by her father, the bride was attired in a ballerina-length gown of white lace and nylon net over skirts of nylon net and satin. her gown was designed with strapless, fitted bodice over which she wore a matching lace bolero and gauntlers. her fingertip veil was caught from a lace shell cap and her flowers, a corsage of garnet rosebuds showering streamers of satin knotted with stephanotis and garnets, were arranged on a white Bible, a gift of her mother. Her only jewelry was a rhinestone necklace, a gift from the bridegroom. Attending the bride was her cousin, Miss Dolores Evelyn Bankert, Baltimore Street, who choose a ballerina-length gown of powder blue nylon net over taffeta featuring a strapless bodice with which she wore a matching stole. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink sweetheart rosebuds and pink carnations and wore a matching floral headdress. Roger Moul, York Street, served as best man. Ushers were Harold Sterner, Broadway, cousin of the bride, and (incomplete) Mrs. Elmer Bankert The Evening Sun Friday, December 2, 1983 Mabel Jane Bankert, 95, of the Brethren Home, Cross Keys, and formerly of 141 Third St., died this morning at the Brethren Home. She was the widow of Elmer I. Bankert, who died Oct. 11, 1961. Born in West Manheim Township, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Annie Klinedinst Feeser. She was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran church, York Street, and the Women of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 923. She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Mildred Spangler, 139 Third St., and Mrs. Henrietta Palmer, 611 Maple Ave.; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., with her pastor, the rev. Jack R. Hoffman, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Geiman--Westminster--Naomi Catherine Geiman, 77, of Westminster died Monday, March 1, 1993, at Carroll County General Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard P. and Bessie Harmon Bankert. She was the wife of Forest B. Geiman. She was a housewife and was a member of Bixler United Methodist Church and Door to Virtue Order of Eastern Star. Surviving also are one son, Victor F. Geiman of Westminster; two brothers, Melvin L. Maryland Weddings (written in date 19 Jul 1950) Murray - Bankert Miss Shirley Louise Bankert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert N. Bankert, Hampstead, became the bride of Richard Stanley Murray, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Murray, Hampstead on Saturday afternoon at 3 o�clock in St. Mark�s Lutheran church, Hampstead. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Leon Haines, pastor of the bride. Miss Grace Murray, assistant professor of music at 30-minute organ recital before the ceremony and the traditional wedding marches. The soloist was Mrs. Charles Knight, Owings Mills. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a period gown of pale pearly pink satin. The fitted bodice with long pointed sleeves had an off-the-shoulder neckline with an invisible yoke and crushed tulle fichu, trimmed with handmade pearl studded rosebuds. The full skirt was joined to the bodice at the hipline in a scalloped effect. A deep tulle ruffle headed with band of satin circled the entire skirt, including the long formal train. Her finger tip veil of blush pink i8llusion with a soft frill effect was in keeping with the dress and was attached to a satin calot. She carried a bride�s bouquet of pink rosebuds, stephenotis and orchids. Mrs. Charles Worden, Towson, was the matron-of-honor. She wore a wedgewood blue gown of French marquisette with a portrait neckline edged in the same shade of satin. The skirt featured a hip line fashioned with satin trim and large satin bows with streamers falling to the hemline. She wore a large tulle picture hat, self-trimmed with bows at the back. She carried a mixed bouquet of blue delphinium, corn flowers, and pink rosebuds tied with a blue ribbon. The senior bridesmaids were Miss Gene Bankert, cousin of the bride, Miss Jacqueline Brown, Miss Janet Hering all of Westminster, and Miss Martha Buhman, Hampstead. The junior bridesmaids included Miss Doris Bankert, sister of the bride, and Miss Nancy Miller, niece of the bridegroom, both of Hampstead. The bridesmaids wore dresses of shell pink and were designed identical to the dress of Mrs. Worden�s. They carried bouquets of blue delphiniums and corn flowers to which were attached large blue ribbons. The flower girl was Miss Judy Murray, Baltimore, niece of the bridegroom, Richard Bower, cousin of the bride,, Westminster, was the ring bearer, Frank Hale, Hampstead, was best man. The ushers were Charles Worden, Towson, Albert Cooper, Francis Murray and James Murray, brothers of the bridegroom, all of Baltimore. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride. Mrs. Murray will be a senior at Western Maryland college this fall. He served in the Navy for two years and attended the University of Baltimore. The couple left on a wedding trip to Sea Island, Ga. and Miami Beach.
