Baughman, a former resident of Westminster, died this morning at 1:10 o�clock at his home in Frederick. he has many relatives and friends in Carroll county. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. in St. Mary�s Lutheran church, Silver Run, the Rev. W. E. Saltzgiver officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary�s Union cemetery. Littlestown Couple Married 58 Years Mr. And Mrs. Lloyd Baughman Celebrate Anniversary On St. Valentine�s Day Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Baughman Littlestown, observed their fifty-eighth wedding anniversary Saturday. During the day many relatives and friends of the aged couple called at their home to extend congratulations and best wishes. They were also the recipients of gifts, flowers and many cards of congratulation. Mr. Baughman, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Baughman, Hanover, and Mrs. Baughman, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Sholl, Silver Run, Md., were married February 14, 1884, by the Rev. E. J. Metzler, pastor of St. John�s Lutheran church, Littlestown. Both Mr. Baughman, who is eighty years old, and Mrs. Baughman, who is 78 years of age, are enjoying good health. They are the parents of eleven children, all of whom are living. They have forty-eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Their children are William Baughman, Curvin Baughman and Joseph Baughman, all of Fairfield, Iowa; Mrs. Lloyd Mummert, Alliance, O.; Mrs. Virgil Loss, Miss Cora Baughman and Mrs. Joseph Gouker, Hanover; Maurice Baughman, Mrs. Paul Wisotzkey, Mrs. William Harner and Earl Baughman, Littlestown. Couple Observes 60th Wedding Day (written in date) Feb 14, 1844 Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Baughman, Littlestown, Observe Anniversary--Entertain Children And Relatives Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Baughman, North Queen street, Littlestown, observed their sixtieth wedding anniversary today. In celebration of the occasion the couple entertained their children and relatives at their home Sunday. Refreshments were served including a large wedding cake. Mr. and Mrs. Baughman were the recipients of many gifts, flowers and cards of congratulation. Mrs. Baughman, who before marriage was Joanna Shull, daughter of John and Rebecca Shull, Silver Run, Md., and Mr. Baughman, a son of David and Catherine Houck Baughman, Hanover, were married February 14, 1884, by the Rev. Mr. Metzler, pastor of St. John�s Lutheran church, near Littlestown. Mr. and Mrs. Baughman were the parents of eleven children, six daughters and five sons, ten of whom are still living. they are William Baughman and Curvin Baughman, both residing in the state of Iowa; Mrs. Lloyd Mummert, Ohio; Mrs. Joseph Gouker, Mrs. Virgil Loss and Miss Cora Baughman, all of Hanover; Joseph Baughman, Maurice Baughman, Mrs. William Harner and Earl Baughman, all of Littlestown. Their other daughter, Mrs. Annie Wisotzkey, Littlestown, died fifteen months ago. They have 48 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Fifteen of their grandsons are serving in the armed forces of the country. Both Mr. and Mrs. Baughman are in fairly good health and continue to do their light housekeeping. Mrs. Baughman observed her eightieth birthday anniversary in October, and Mr. Baughman observed his eighty-second birthday anniversary in the same month. Baughman The Evening Sun Wednesday, July 16, 1980 York-Adams Deaths Gettysburg- Word has been received of the death of the Rev. Dr. Harry L. Baughman, president emeritus of the Lutheran Theological Seminary here. Dr. Baughman, 88, died Friday in Philadelphia. He received his pre-college education New Windsor College in new Windsor, Md. His family was associated with Uniontown, Md. He served parishes in Keyser, W. Va., and Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. In 1940, he was called to be Professor of Preaching at Gettysburg, a position he held until his retirement in 1962. In 1950, Dr. Baughman was elected president of the Seminary. He served the United Lutheran Church in America as a member of its executive board, board of publication, board of deaconess work and court of adjudication. He was an author and lecturer.
