Looking for the parents of James J. Ohler b. July 1835 in MD. I find James Ohler in the 1850 & 1860 census of Carroll County, Taneytown, 1st Dist. In both census records he is listed with a KNOX family. 1850 census he is listed with Barbara Knox age. 56 yrs. I figure that her husband has died and in this family is a son: John R. Knox. James Ohler is listed as a 14 yr old laborer in this family. 1860 census the farm is now in the ownership of son, John R. Knox age 36 yrs. and his wife Mary age 34 yrs. listed with the family is James Ohler laborer age 25 yrs. 1870 census I find James J. Ohler who has married in 1866 to Mary E. Nolan and they are now living in 11th Dist. of Balto. 1900 11th Dist. Balto Census shows James & Mary Nolan were married for 34 yrs. She bore 10 children and only 5 are living at the time of the census. Any help with locating the parents of James J. OHLER b. July 1835 is most appreciated. Thank you.
