This was in the Carroll County newspaper of 9 August 1838. Can anybody identify this road? "Road Notice: Henry Houck, John Furhman, John Smeach, George Weaver of Henry, and John Weaver filed their petition to open a public road in Carroll County to commence at the Pennsylvania and Maryland line near the dwelling house of Henry Houck and thence running throughe his land and that of John Furhman, John Smeach, Mrs. Catharine Bender, J. Henry Hoppe (formerly Killea's), George Weaver and John Weaver to intersect the Turnpike Road from Manchester to Hanover at or near the 34th milestone on said road, opposite John Weaver's dwelling house. Samuel W. Myers, John Wentz & Phillip Crumrine, commissioners." 9 August 1838
