O may this bounteous God thru all our life be near us, with ever joyful hearts and blessed peace to cheer us; and keep us in his grace, and guide us when perplexed, and free us from all ills in this world and the next. Amen. The Prayer of confession L: Let us confess our sin and regret, trusting Gods promised mercy: All:Eternal Father, guardian of our lives, we confess that we are children of dust who have not responded worthily to your gracious care; we have not loved as we ought to love, nor have we lived as you command, and our years are soon gone; Lord God, have mercy upon us; forgive our sin and raise us to new life, so that as long as we live we may serve you, until dying, we enter the joy of your presence; thru Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. The Words of Assurance L: Who is in a position to condemn? only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us; hear the good news of the gospel: God is love, in Jesus Christ we are forgiven; be reconciled to God our Father. ALL: (praying The Lords Prayer) *The Hymn How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord, is laid for your faith in his excellent Word; what more can he say than to you he had said, to you who for refuge to Jesus have fled, to you who for refuge to Jesus have fled. Fear not, I am with you, O be not dismayed, for I am your God, and will still give you aid; Ill strengthen you, help you, and cause you to stand, upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand, upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand. The soul that on Jesus still leans for repose, I will not, I will not desert to his foes; that soul though all hell should endeavor to shake, Ill never, no, never, no, never forsake, Ill never, no, never, no, never forsake.
