I am trying to find out if this is the Houck family line that moved to Pennsylvania in the 1700s. My. GGGGG-grandfather, William S. Brown (his wife was Ruth Lane, d/o Rev. Samuel Lane from that same area) sold his PA land to his neighbor, named Houck, in the year 1810. My 5th-grandfather was in Ohio when he sold his land to Houck. It is believed he was resident in then Baltimore County on land used to form Carroll County near to today's Lawndale, MD. Brown's seem to have a long term relationship with the Lanes, Clarks, Coles and other of that area.
