Hi everyone........ sending this to Rob when I thought.. I bet lots of people could use this information.. So if you get duplicates...... click DELETE.. .Mailing list cordinators everywhere will love you for it as most times.. a person who is a cordinator has more then one mailing list, myself is 16 at last count.. Now if you get a person from every mailing list that wants to unsubscribe or sub on the same day............ this can be time consuming as you can see. So volunteering to do this helps all mailing list volunteers. ::: smiling:::::: << I am still recieving email from the mailing list. I believe the address that needs to be removed is now: [email protected] Can you help with this or should I be contacting someone else? >> Hi Rob, In the thought of saving Colleen some time, yes- she is the one who would have to unsub you other then yourself-- here is how~ For anyone to unsub from a mailing list from ANY rootsweb.com mailing list Take the email address for queries.......... ie [email protected] (change the name to the list you are on) add the word request.. like this [email protected] -- using that address in the Send To box of email.. and putting ONLY the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the text.. you have now unsubbed yourself.. the same as when you subscribe only the word changes to unsubscribe And IF YOU are on a DIGEST mode.. change the L to D... This is a easy way to remember how to unsubscribe from ANY ... ROOTSWEB.COM mailing list. This is included in every welcome you get from any list you join. Speaking of Welcome Lists.. a good way to save those for future references.. like unsubbing .. is to make a Folder called...... Welcomes or Mailing List or whatever you choose.. and when a welcome letter arrives? Use the Save As from the File menu.. name the file for the name, county, or whatever the subject of the mailing list is. Now, one more thing......... Say for example.. someone has forwarded you an email from a mailing list and you thing you would like to be on that list?? Look at the email address... Is it rootsweb.com? If so, add in the word Request that we talked of here in the beginning... and send that email with the word subscribe in the body of the email.. and you are now.. a subscriber to that mailing list....... without hunting for the URL that tells you how. Nifty, you say? I sure think so. In reality you only need to save one welcome regarding rootsweb's mailing list.. as all you need to do is change the name.. but by saving it you are also keeping a good record of WHO you are subscribed to also. Whoila........... don't ya just love it~ Good Luck Brenda Brenda K.
