Looking for information about the following: Susannah, wife of Jacob Roop, Jr., born 9/4/1824, died 12/17/1845. Her stone is found is the private Cassell cemetery on Adams Mill road near Westminster. Based on the detail of the stone and its clarity, I believe it to be carved by "Boss" Hammond. Maryland Marriages shows a listing for Jacob Roop and Susannah Nicodemus, marrying on 2/15/1845 and I suspect this is her, and it is possible that her parents were Henry Nicodemus and Catherine Cassell but I would like to be able to verify that. I would also like who Jacob Roop's parents are. He does not appear to be buried in the Cassell cemetery, so I don't have much information about him at all. -Mary Carroll County, Maryland Genealogy http://us-genealogy-sites.com/mdcarroll
You are right. This is one of Boss' headstones. I think I found three of his in the Cassell Cemetery. Thanks.
