    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/CFB.2ACI/34.211.1 Message Board Post: While researching our BROWN ancestors, I found that an Andrew TOPPER married Margaret BROWN about 1789. Margaret was born about 1772 in Taneytown, Frederick Co. (Now Carroll Co.) MD. The churchyard mentioned as Andrew's resting place is in Taneytown (see below). This is what I found at Ancestry World Tree. I have not verified the information: BROWN, Margaret (2) (Daniel (1)) : 1772 - 1850 1772 Margaret BROWN was born about 1772 in Taneytown, Frederick Co., MD. She was the daughter of Daniel BROWN and Margaret, maiden name unknown. 1789 About 1789, Margaret married Andrew TOPPER, son of Christian TOPPER and Elizabeth, maiden name unknown. Andrew was born 1747 in Bechtolscheim, Hessen, Germany. Children of Margaret BROWN and Andrew TOPPER are: George, born about 1790 John J., born 2 May 1791 Samuel, born 22 November 1793 in Pennsylvania Sarah/Sally, born 20 November 1795 Joseph, born 25 July 1800 in Pennsylvania Anthony, born 2 May 1803 Anna, born 5 September 1810 1831 Margaret’s husband, Andrew TOPPER, died 4 December 1831 in Germany twp, Adams Co., PA. 1850 Margaret died about 1850, probably in Pennsylvania. ------------------------------------------------ We are connected through Margaret BROWN's brother, John. Their father, Daniel BROWN, 1722 - 1802, Taneytown, Frederick Co. (Carroll) MD, owned property behind St. Mary's Church in Silver Run (Beall's Choice/Brown's Neglect) until Daniel's death. Land record info provided by Mr. Horvath, HSCC. Do you know if there is proof of any of the above BROWN/TOPPER information? I live in Carroll Co. about 10 miles from Adams Co PA and Taneytown MD, and plan to visit area Historical Societies and libraries for info. Any guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I have much infomation from John BROWN (1753 MD - 1820 Cambria Co. PA) to date, and would be happy to share if we have a connection.

I am checking each eligible Anna Barbara that I can find among the Maryland church records where my John Hahn lived, prior to his moving "with his new bride" to Columbiana County, Ohio, abt. 1803. Does anyone know to whom Christopher and Catharine FREYVOGEL's daughter A. Barbara married? I know that she was confirmed in 1785 at the age of 16, making her born abt. 1770. I also know that she was still single in 1801 - quite late to still be single, but that is what the church records show. Thank you for _any_ help! Jane Moore
