Bell had a daughter named Grace May, b. 05-15-1897 in Carroll Cty- she might be an only child. I have a note from my grandmother that Charles had a 2nd wife named mary. Any leads on getting the Bell family back further in MD??? Thanks for all your help!

The Samuel ROSE of Ward 16, Precinct 6, Baltimore, in 1880 census is not the Samuel ROSE of Pennsylvania because: Samuel's mother (my great great grandmother) was born in Maryland in 1851. It is also interesting to note that Samuel married a woman of Irish descent. Thank you for your interest

Did you notice that Samuel ROSE & his parents were all born in Maryland, while Hanna, her deceased husband, and her parents were all born in Ireland? That makes a family connection less likely. There was another Samuel ROSE, aged 9, b. MD, of Ward 16, Precinct 6, Baltimore, in 1880, s/o Julius & Mary from Prussia. How did you prove which Samuel was the one who went to Pennsylvania?

Hello from a broadcast news professor at Ohio University in Athens Ohio working on a TV documentary for local public TV about a civil war hero. Katheryne K. Rowe, who died in Westminster on February 1, 1998, may be linked to Milton M. Holland - if her husband James Milton Rowe was Holland's adopted grandson. He died in 1949; the death notice in the Post mentions his wife but no other relatives. And of course he may be yet another "wrong" Rowe (I've already found a couple of others). It's a long shot, but there might be some indicator in HER obituary, if indeed the Carroll County Times did one in February 1998 (neither the Sun nor the Post did). The Times tells me its library only goes back to 1999; there's no publicly-listed e-mail address for the local genealogical society. Any suggestions? Many thanks! Cheers, Mark Mark S. I have a copy of his will, which can be obtained from Adams County probate court in Gettysburg. It is will # 156. In it, Elizabeth is metioned as married to Frederick Kump. My particular interest is in one of George Sr.'s sons. I am trying to establish that the son Jacob mentioned in the will is the same Jacob married to Catherine Hilbert. I am willing to share the information I have on this family. I am also wondering if the Samuel Unger of Carroll County, listed in the 1850 census could be George's son Samuel. Does anyone know about this person?
