I am related to a Hook but I have a skeleton in our closet.I was always told that my grandfather's mothers name was Nettie Redman and it was even on his SSN application, but when I sent away for his birth certificate there was a Mary Easton listed as his Mom. I have nothing on Mary and I was wondering since you are an Easton with a Hook thrown in there that maybe, well anything can be possible. My grandfathers name was Robert Joseph Archibald and naturally his parents were Harry Archibald and Mary Easton. Robert was born Sep 1901, in Baltimore Md. If you have any info that might be of use to me or you just want to say hi, well I'll be here. Thanks, Lucy

I have done some genealogy research on my family and can provide a little information. My GGG grandfather was Henry Keyser and was born in Frederick County (pre Carroll County)in 1803. One of his sons (William) was living in the house based on an 1877 map copy I have. Henry had a house in town on a corner near the German Church. I don't know if William bought the land or inherited it. If you have any land information I would be grateful if you could provide any insight. Williams wife's family lived nearby and her father (Zumbrun) was a soldier during the war of 1812. My great grandfather (Elmer Grant Kiser) was born in 1866 and possibly at the house. I know he was still there on the 1870 and 1880 census. Sometime thereafter he moved to Ohio, married and later moved to Nebraska. From there the family moved to NW Kansas and his son later to Colorado. Email address here is ckiessher@aol.com Would really like to see a picture of the place. Roy Kiser p.s. Spellings on records varied greatly. On census records from 1830 to 1880 there 5 different spellings for the same family. Keizer, Keyser, Keiser, Keyser, Kyser, and Kiser. Makes research challening.

Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.maryland.counties.carroll/1382.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Barb, I would need more proof, but there's a Charles M Bangs and his wife Emma in New Windsor in 1880. Searching for them is a booger because the S in Bangs I suppose looks like an E to searching tools (looks like s to me, though). They have a son Harris. Dates match up. Charles is around New Windsor in 1910, too (again, Bange/Bangs issues). Maybe you've already had this question answered, but if this is all you have, I'll nose around for you next time I'm in Carroll Co. Again, I'd need more proof, but it doesn't look too bad for starters. Mike Stauffer
