    1. [MDCARROLL] Shearer/Scherer
    2. Hello List, I'm looking for parent and sibling information on John F. Shearer, born March 28, 1836 in MD. Also looking for the same information on George F. Shearer, born December 22, 1831 in MD. I suspect both of these men were brothers, but I'm not sure. They both show up in the 1860 Census in Codorus Township, York County, PA. The Census also indicates that the parents of both George and John were also born in MD. Any leads and information any can give me is greatly appreciated. I have a good bit of information on their descendants and would be willing share it. Thanks, Todd Zeigler

    3. Is anyone working on the Hooper Family or the Jenkins Family of Carroll County for 1800? The Hoopers and Jenkins both had farms in Franklinville/Taylorsville before 1800. Any help no matter how small would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping you will have time to see if you can find a family by the surname of "BLACK" that has a daughter (age 5 to 14 years of age---most likely about age 11) in the household. I don't know the parent's names, but the daughter's name is Susannah Rebecca Black. As you probably already know, the name Susannah may be spelled different ways, or may be Sally, Susan, Sarah. I have found Susannah middle initial as "E", instead of "R". She is my great-grandmother, & I've been trying to find her parents for about 20 years. I'm hoping you, or someone else reading this may be able to help me. On 4 May 1860, she married Martin Fredrick DUFT---the newspaper notice said they were of Uniontown at the time of her marriage. Some sources gives her birthplace as MD, & others gives it as PA. Hoping for a miracle, Donna Carnall

I'd all but given up on this Richter family line. I had Michael A. Richter and Mary Little listed on my husband's great grandmother's death certificate as parents, but I've been unable to find them on a census, with the exception of finding Michael still living at home on the 1880 census. I had a one month subscription to the 1900 census, but never found any Richters. I'll have to try again. You've supplied me with so much information that I now have plenty to go on. Now that I have death dates for Michael and Mary, I'll be able to search for an obituary that might list other children other than Estie May. I'm so grateful to you for taking the time to look up and post all of the info on the Richters for me, and also the description and history of Woolerys District. Once again, thank you for sharing your time and resources. Truly grateful, Janet
