In Memoriam In loving memory of my dear hus- band, Charles G. Bish, who passed away one year ago tomorrow, Dec. 29, 1945. One year has come and gone Since we were forced to part; but time and space cannot efface His memory from my heart. Sad and sudden was the call Of one so dearly loved by all; A bitter grief, a shock sever It was to part with one so dear. A husband kind, a husband true A friend to everyone he knew; He had a smile, a helping hand. His kindness was always at command. No one knows the silent heartache, Only those who have lost can tell Of the grief that is borne in silence, Of the one I loved so well. MRS. CHARLES G. BISH The day recalls sad memories Of one whos gone to rest; But God is the one who took him For Ggod is the one who knows best. As we enter that vacant room And see that vacant place; We can always remember His kind and loving face. Your name doesnt have to be mentioned, To make us think about you; Your face is always before us And we treasure the image of you. MR. AND MRS. 3. Baugher, Edward Sweitzer Baugher, 71, dies after long illness (written in date) Oct 22, 1984 Westminster - Edward Sweitzer Baugher, who built a little country hamburger and produce stand into a restaurant and fruit market complex that attracted hungry customers from throughout the Baltimore-Washington region, died Monday evening at Gettysburg, PA Hospital. He was 71. Baughers roots went deeply into Carroll County. His father began farming here in 1900, and Ed grew up on the 60-acre home farm near Frizzellburg. He didnt have much formal education, because in those days children were needed to work on the farm, his son Allan explained. The lack of formal education didnt prevent Baugher from becoming a successful businessman. Im proud of what he accomplished during his lifetime, Allan Baugher said. He was a self-made businessman. Baugher was looking for a better way to sell the fruit and produce he raised on the farm when he bought the land on West Main Street Extended, just over the hill from Western Maryland College nearly 40 years ago. Baughers opened in 1948, the owner thinking that the major attraction would be the fruit stand, his son said. Instead, college students and local residents started patronizing the hamburger and short order restaurant and Baugher was soon taking an apartment at the rear of the restaurant so he could begin serving dinner platters. Two generations of high school and Western Maryland College students gathered at Baughers for hamburgers and French fries and milk shakes made with real milk. Both Ed Baugher and his wife, the former Romaine Leppo, whom he married in 1932, worked very hard. Allan Baugher pointed out. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Westminster Church of the Brethren, Bond Street. Friends may call at the Pritts Funeral Home, 412 Washington Road, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Her jewelry was a bracelet, which had been presented by her father to her mother and which her sisters also wore at their weddings. The newlyweds then left on a wedding trip to Canada. Upon their return they will go to housekeeping in Aspers. Surnames: LONG, NORTH Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CFB.2ACI/338.1 Message Board Post: Hi Janet, there are many ways to find them and I am only beginning to learn, myself... but by accident, I found a whole bunch by doing a GOOGLE Search on the surname and "search within the results" for: will, probate, letter of appointment", etc. KISS still does work, especially when all else fails. I use the GOOGLE Search for each name and surname: type in the "name" in quotes or surname, and then "search within the results" for: genealogy, and then "search within the results" for: the first name in quotes or the entire name in quotes. I type in genealogy first for names like LONG or NORTH... it helps to cut out the "long road" thingy from happening too much. It works great for me. My sister Fran taught me this trick. Hope that it helps. Happy Researching. Peace and blessings. Dolores Cobb Phifer
