The lovely brick mansion was built in 1735 and is now owned and occupied by Mrs. Lewi Smith. Henry Johnson was a son of an earlier Henry Johnson and Mary was a daughter of Moses Chaille of Worcester County. Henry and Mary Johnson had at least four other children : Dr. Stephen Theodore Johnson, Henry Johnson, Mary Ann, and Elizabeth. Henry (the father) died in 1780 and his wife, Mary, in 1807. The son, Henry, married Elizabeth Maxwell of Kent County and had a son, William Henry, and a daughter, Henrietta Maria Frazier Johnson, who married in 1828 Charles Dimmock, lieutenant in the Unites States Navy. Charles was from Virginia. It is believed that one of Henry and Mary Johnson's daughters married General Perry Benson, who lived in his fami 1 y home, Wheat1 ands, in Tal bot County. Benson served in the Continental Army during the Rev01 utionary War and was later a member of the Order of the Cincinnati.
