He was born in 1871 and married anna Hignutt hes parents were Edward Messick and Mary L. Collins. Ewdards parents were Isaac Messick & Lydia Hastings. I two have heard that there is Indian blood in our family but am still trying to prove it. As you know back then if you claimed that you were Indian our looked it, You were sent to a black school or treated as black, so alot of people did not clain to be one.
