The article, Andrew Lord (1702-1772)of the Northwest Fork of the Nanticoke, and Some Descendants, appearing in Volume 41, No.4 of The Bulletin, the quarterly of the Maryland Gen. Society, includes the following info. For a reprint, send a 5X8 SASE to: J German, 35900 Birch Hollow Lane, Purcellville, VA 20132. Mary Cratcher/Crucher's Will of 14 Oct 1765, is abstracted in the Md. Cal. Wills, Vol 13, p. 92, but a correction is given in Volume 16, p. ix. As corrected, it shows that several of Andrew Lords children are named in Mary Crouchers will, and Andrews son Crutcher Lord is specifically identified as her grandchild. Her daughters, living in 1765, according to that will, were Danier Sulivane, the wife of John; South (Sarah) Andrew, wife of John; and Medilla Mary Thompson, possibly the wife of Charles. Mary Cruchers will also names Mary Snow as her grand daughter, provides a legacy of her dwelling place to William Snow, and mentions Ann Harper, Frankey Hachet, and Henry, Abel, South and Arrena Lord, but no relationships are given. DOLR 24 Old:11 names Sarah, daughter of Samuel Cratcher, married to ____ Andrews. John Sullivane is named as the husband of Denair Cratcher in the LDS Ancestral Archive Index (AAI) (lo000214). I agree with both Robert Ireland and E. J. German. There is enough circumstanial evidence to at least say that Sarah Cratcher was the wife of John Andrew (d. 1787) of Caroline County, Maryland. Besides the several sources that E. J. German gave there are also these. The will of Mary Snow, of Dorchester Co., MD, will dated 24 Sep. 1773, probated 11 Apr. 1774 (MD Wills Lib. 40 fol. 119) son, William Snow, tract "Chance" cont. 50 acres daughters, Rebeckar & Sarah Snow, tract "The Long Survey" cont. 50 acres. daughter, Sarah Snow, personalty son, Obediah Snow, personalty son Thomas Snow, personalty son, Henry Sonw, personalty brother Samuel Andrew, executor (most likely a half-brother) Test: William Adams, David Harper, Ann Harper Inventory of Mary Snow, of Dorchester Co., MD, dated 1774 recorded 30 March 1775, MD Inventories Lib. 122 fol. 3 value of estate 40 pounds 6 shillings 5 pence appraisers- William Harper, Daniel Payne creditors- Sam'l Kirkpatrick next-of-kin- Isaac Andrew, Sary Andrew Exec'r- Samuel Andrew Mary Snow was the daughter of Sarah (Cratcher) Andrew apparently by a previous husband. It is speculated that he was Obediah King, Jr. who died intestate in Dorchester Co., MD in 1732, about the same time that Mary (??) Snow was born. The only problem here is that his (Obediah King's) Adm. Acct. stated that he left only his widow, Sarah, as his heir. Mary Cratcher and Frances "Frankey" Hackett were sisters of Batterton Fletcher of Dorchester Co., MD. All three of them were originally from the Eastern Shore of VA.
