I don't believe the Wm BERRY in Indiana about 1830 is the same Wm BERRY that purchased land near Punch Hall, (now Burrsville) & Potter's Landing, (now Willistown), in Caroline Co. in MD. 1. William BERRY, b. c. 1799, m. Sarah WHITLEY, removed from NW Fork MM in ? to Milford MM in Wayne Co., IN in 1830. <NOTE: Much of this information taken from "Caroline Co. Quakers to Indiana, part 2: From NWFork MM to Milford MM" by F. Edward White .... Milford MM was in Wayne Co, IN. ... "Wm. BERRY, wife Sarah & children, Elizabeth, James, Mary Jane - minors, received a certificate of removal on 18 Feb 1830.> 2. William BERRY purchased "Friendship," adj. "Punch Hall" (now Burrsville), in 1841 -- it says: to William BERRY of CACO -- not of Indiana. Hi Helen, The William Berry who owned "Venture" was William Berry who married Naomi Johnson, the great grandfather of William Berry who married Sarah Whiteley and went to IN. All of the men listed in record "Book #18, 1843-1845" were living ca 1800 and before. 1. William Berry died testate 1808 in Caroline Co., MD 2. Peter Collison died testate 1808 in Caroline Co., MD 3. William Collison died testate 1800 in Caroline Co., MD 4. John Mitchell died intestate 1790 in Caroline Co., MD (a Capt. John Mitchell died in 1794) 5. A Ralph Smith died intestate in 1796 in Guilford Co., NC, another is listed (aged 45 & over) on the 1800 Census of Guilford Co., NC 6. James Harris(s), several of these, one died 1790, another 1799, and 1804 7.
