Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/iEB.2ACE/155.1 Message Board Post: My great-great grandfather was Henry Strachan (pronounced Straughn)...he was born in Bervie, Kincardine, Scotland on 23 May 1801 and married Susan Cutler in 1824, and Martha Smith on 5 Dec. 1826 in Caroline, MD. My great-grandfather, David Henry Straughn, was born on 1 July 1831, married Mary Queen Gladden (daughter of Margaret LeCompte) and died 21 March 1913. My grandfather, Linwood Forbes Straughn, was born 13 Sept. 1879 in Worscester Co., MD (which is where Snow Hill is located), married Nellie Briggs Jenkins on 3 July 1903(had only one child, David Henry Straughn, my father), and then married Effie Eveline Carter and had 8 more children.
