There seems to be quite a few folks looking for Messick families. Thought I'd mention that there was a Messick family living in Port Penn, New Castle Co., DE, in the 1950s-60s. I went to school with the only daughter (Donna) when I lived nearby. Of course, the family could have been there much earlier and later -- or even still there. Just thought I'd mention it to give some of you a hint for a Delaware area to search if you haven't already located relatives in that region. (Port Penn is on the Delaware River, south of the Delaware Chesapeake Canal; it is southeast of Elkton, Cecil Co., MD.)
