    1. [MDCAROLI] John Cremean Descendants - BEWARE!
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Cummins, Comings, Cummings, Rush Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/iEB.2ACE/658 Message Board Post: I have always felt that sharing one's information was the best thing for genealogy, but I have recently had an experience that has changed my thinking. I did a search on an unusual name I had found in some of my mother's research. The name was in error since it was copied from microfilm years ago, but that is not important. My purpose in writing this is to advise all that others are not so honest and accurate with the info that one shares with them. I found my family line on a site for the "Descendants of John Cremean". My line went all the way to me, but our last name has been changed to meet someone's needs for a family long. I am now Judith Mai Cremean. Someone took my info and did a global change of the last name, I suspect. The person also used all my notes with reference to other searchers by name. I feel this is a theft, pure and simple. I am trying to get the webmaster to delete this erroneous info, but you can imagine how that is going. Henceforth, I shall be more secretive with my info and only share with confirmed family members. I realize that even this is dangerous, but I have to trust someone. Any ideas????????? Thanks for letting me share this misfortune event with you. Judy CUMMINS French
