    1. Re: [MDCAROLI] Joseph WILLIS & Family
    2. Good morning Parker, Thank you for your response & info! :) I'm trying to help a woman, my the name of Valerie McLAUGHLIN, she is looking for info on her PARRIS & WILLIS Lines from Caroline Co., Dorchester Co., MD & Kent Co., DE. She has done research on her family but has documented very little -- she relied mainly on the stories her mother & other family members have given her over the years. Which of course leads to confusion & mistakes. She told me that her Joseph W. WILLIS was a big land owner in Caroline Co., MD. I found the following info. If you could tell me which is your Joseph WILLIS -- it would help me narrow it down to which one is belongs to her. LAND: 27 Aug 1793 - 10 Dec 1793 DEPOSITION of John WALKER, aged 52, saith that he was at Andrew WILLIS; father of the late Thos. WILLIS, dec'd, of whom Sina WILLIS is widow, and heard Andrew say he intended 100 a. of his land for Thomas; 100 a. for his son Andrew; 7 a. for his son Ezekiel& the home plantation for his son Elijah, excepting a parcel to be laid off for his son Joseph - that in case of his death without a will that Thomas would convey; to which Thomas agreed & so did. Ack. bef. Elijah SATTERFIELD, Wm LUCAS. Ref: Caroline County Land Records, Book VII #233; Vol. L, p24. 22 Aug 1818 - 13 Oct 1818 Levin STUART of DCO to John STEVENS of CACO - cons. $322 - "Littleton's Friendship" in CACO on the west side of the main road leading from Hunting Creek to Marshyhope Bridge - adj. Also a piece of "Littleton's Friendship" on the southeast side of the main road leading from Hunting Creek to Marshyhope Bridge, adj. "Hap Nab at a Venture" - cont. 7 acres. Levin & Henriette his wife, e/a bef. Abel GOWTY, Joseph DOUGLAS. Levin STUART agrees that John STEVENS is to have a road through STUART's land to these lands he has purchased, between Joseph WILLIS & John VAIN's lands, where William SMALLWOOD (negro) now lives, of one chain width, to clear & do with the timber as he (STEVENS) sees fit. I am trying to find any informaton on my Great-Grandfather, William Henry Dean. What information I have is very sketchy at best as he died when my late Grandfather was four years old, so he didn't have very much on his father, and my father has very little. I know by looking him up in the census, he went by Henry. He was married to Anna Cheezum, (his second wife) and they had about 9 or 10 children together. He had at least 1 child by his first wife Mary, a little girl names Annie H. His last known address at the time of his death on 2 March 1906, was Federalsburg, Caroline County and he was buried at Hillcrest, Federalsburg, located in the Beall Family Plot. Anna Cheezum had a child prior to the marriage by the name of Alonzo Cheezum, father unknown and I have very little on him. Any help that you could give would be greatly appreciated. One of the reason's I am trying so hard to find out the Dean family is I would love to be able to give! a framed family chart to my father for Christmas. (I know it's early yet)

    3. Hi, I would really appreciate it if anyone has any information on the family history of Arthur (Pansy) Mansfield, my father; Florence Cecil, my mother; Charles Ananais Blough, my ex-father in law; or Edna Shaffer, my ex-mother in law. As far as I know my parents lived in Maryland's Caroline & Talbot counties. The Bloughs and Shaffer came here from PA and lived in Caroline county. Also I own a small house on Boyce Mill Road, in Greensboro, MD that I am trying to find some history on. I was told that it was a store or something with the Railroad Station across the street, which sets in the V in the road of Boyce Mill and Whiteleysburg Road. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I think Frederick and John could possibly be brothers. that is why i am trying to find their parents. It gets alittle tricky here because Fredericks daughter Laura Josephine b.3 Sep/1861 married James L. Faulkner Sep. 1875.J.L. Faulkner being son of John J Faulkner. . So if they are brothers then Laura and J.L were first cousins. which I am sure happened alot then. That was Anna Kinnamon that you couldn't unerstand. I have all that. But Frederick's parents are very elusive. My dad's mom was Laura Brown, her parents -Estelle Faulkner and William Brown, EstelleFaulkner's parents were Laura j and J.L. Faulkner. This connects both sides of my family together. One of Laura,s younger brothers married my mom's side of the family.

Children: 1) John (was he actually Ann's son, or a son by a previous marriage of James?) --note: John is said to have been born abt. 1755, Kent Co, DE; d: 1816, Greene Co, OH; md: Elizabeth Horney Aug. 9, 1776, Caroline Co, MD, dau. of Jeffrey & Elizabeth (Baynard) Horney. Migrated to Guilford Co, NC.-- 2) Ann (was she actually Ann's daughter, or a dau. by a previous marriage of James?) 3) James II, b: Aug. 16, 1765, Kent Co, DE, md: 1) Celia WRIGHT on Jan. 4, 1792, Caroline Co, MD; 2) Celia CHILCUTT on Sept. 12, 1827, Greenplain MM, Clark Co, OH. She was the dau. of Joshua (d:1792) and Esther Chilcutt, Nicolites, and the widow of Richard VICKERS. 4) Isaac, b: Aug. 6, 1769, Kent Co, DE (1850 Vigo Co, IN census: ANDERSON, Isaac, 81, b: DE; Nancy, 54, b: PA; Major C., 14, b: IN) --note: Did this Isaac go to Guilford Co NC from DE, then on to IN? Believe Nancy was his 2nd wife. Who was his 1st wife?-- 5) Daniel, b: Oct. 3, 1771, DE 6) Elijah, b: Aug. 29, 1773, Kent Co, DE; d: May 15, 1872, Centre MM, OH; Married 1) Susannah CAIN bef. Nov. 18, 1794; 2) Mary Thatcher, Jan. 2, 1808, Centre MM, Clinton Co, OH, and pos. 3) Mary Calley 7) Mary, b: Jan. 6 1775, Kent Co, DE 8) Major, b: Nov. 27, 1777, Kent Co, DE; d: June 30, 1830, Greene Co, OH. --note: I believe Major was married in DE and had 2 children (Major & Martha) and migrated to Guilford Co, NC. His first wife probably died, and he married 2) Miriam MENDENHALL on Nov. 18, 1800, Guilford Co. They migrated to OH -- 9) Elic "Eli", b: Nov. 4, 1783 Any additions or corrections welcomed. I also have a little more information on this line and would be willing to share. Thanks. Marsha McWilliams

    3. Can anyone help me with documenting the following?: John PAVEY (b: abt. 1754, NC - d: abt. 1814, Washington Co, IN), probably the son of Samuel PAVEY I and his first wife (and grandson of Joseph PAVEY and his first wife.) First wife: Thought to be Mary Ann ANDERSON (dau. of James & Elizabeth ANDERSON, Nicolites, of Kent Co, DE) Children: 1) (Joseph) Anderson Pavey, b: Nov. 16, 1790, Caroline Co, MD; d: Oct. 8, 1855, Washington Co, IN, md: 1) Jane WOOD; 2) Pemina Allene BEAMAN 2) Samuel Pavey, b: abt. 1792, Caroline Co, MD; d: aft. 1870, probably Parke Co, IN, md: Barbary BOLON 8/13/1812, Harrison Co, IN. 3) Rebecca Pavey, md. Richard OZMENT in 1816, Guilford Co, NC 4) Unknown daughter --there may have been more children-- John Pavey migrated to Guilford Co, NC. from Caroline Co, MD probably between 1793 and 1800. He purchased land there in 1803 and sold it in 1807. He was the Admin. to the estate of a Major (name, not rank ... quite popular in this ANDERSON family) Anderson in 1801, Guilford Co. Second wife: Frances "Fannie" MARTIN (b: Oct. 19, 1758), md: Jan. 21, 1801, Guilford Co, NC Fannie was a Quaker (dau. of James & Mary) who was "dismous" for marrying John Pavey. John and Anderson are both on the 1812 Tax List of Harrison Co, IN. John, in all likelihood was the "Pavey, Indian scout" written about in the Washington Co, IN history books. Thanks.
