Two brothers were known to have come to the United States from Germany. One, my ancestor, was Henry Kohlhauer. If he had not come, I would not be here. The true mark of an ancestor!!! He married Catherine Elizabeth Becker. Same goes for her! Probably they married about 1797, but that is not a date I list, as it is only rough, and based on the first child being born in 1798. But since Catherine was born abt. 1777, it is probably not too far off! The first daughter was Mary COLHOUER. Formerly, we had her listed as Maria. She was born February 14, 1805. Recent information indicates that she married a Ferdinand WOOLERY. This is a breakthrough. It was in Baltimore, March 26, 1830. I also post this to Carroll, since it is known that that was a most popular county for Colhouers, of whatever spelling, and so I am asking you Carrollians to look out for those names, also!
