Vital records do not go back that far so I've been unsuccessful on that front. I also have queries out for the churches in Baltimore at that time. I have no information on his parentage but his death certificate here in NYC indicates he was born in Baltimore, MD (he died at age 46 in 1890 so birth was about 1843-1844). Can anyone supply me with resources that could narrow down my search? I'm almost positive his family was of the Lutheran/Protestant faith. Thanks so much Linda - NYC
