I'd be grateful for any information about the family of Revolutionary war officer John Smith. Henry C. Peden Jr, Revolutionary Patriots of Harford County, Maryland, 1775-1783, gives some facts about Martha's husband John Smith. He was born 1747 and died 1832. He was Second Lieutenant of the 2nd Battalion, floying camp, Baltimore County MD, 15 July 1776; First Lieutenant, Third Regiment, 10 December 1776; Captain, Third Regiment, 1 January 1777; wounded at the Battle of Savannah, 8 October 1779; wounded and taken prisoner at Camden, 16 August 1780; transferred to the Fifth Regiment, 1 January 1781; Brevet Major, 30 September 1781; prisoner on parole till the close of the war; original member of the Society of the Cincinnati in Maryland.
