I know from personal experience that funeral home records can be useful. I got a valuable clue from the funeral home that buried my greatgrandmother - her funeral contract had a record of who her father was, and the small village in Germany where she had been born. Until then, no one in my family had had any clue about her parents, and we only knew she was from Germany. Jan Z.
