    1. [MDBALT] Old Baltimore Town Roads.
    2. George Locke
    3. I have just finished transcribing the will of my ancestor William Lock of Baltimore dated 13 April, 1786. In his will, he mentions several adjoining properties which lie between two (apparently) North-South running roads. On the west side the properties are bounded by the " road leading from Baltimore Town to the ferry point [unintelligible]." This road is also just called "the ferry road". On the east side the property is bounded by "the fort road". From the distances given in the will, there was 428 feet between the two roads or a little larger that a typical city block (330 feet). Can anyone give me an idea of about where this location would have been in today's terms? This is the first mention I have heard about a ferry around Baltimore, but I am not surprised given the nature of a port town. As for the fort, I could make a guess, but knowledge of the location of a ferry landing would help pinpoint it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Yours truly, -Geo George F.
