Thank you for your reply. I too have Andrew Carruthers, 1788-1880, native of Scotland. Except, I must have one of the other wives, Jane, 1786-1834. I suspect they were a couple arriving from Scotland as I have a marriage date of before 1817 and a first child, Peter born in 1817. Then a Jane, 1819, Ellen 10/14/1821, and Isabella 1824. So, if you can tell me what is going on with the different data, I'd appreciate it. My research came from my mother in law's first cousin whose avocation is genealogy. I have not given his material a "stress test" so to speak. Thanks, Kathy
