Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Md/BaltimoreCity/2798 Surname: Osiek or Osick ------------------------- Louis August Osiek was born 31 Jul 1845 in Baltimore, MD. His death record, marriage record, obituary all indicate 1854. His military record and 1850 census in Maryland all indicate 1845 is more correct birth. The marriage record, military record, and Census record all use the spelling of OSICK. He joined the army in 1870 and gives the age of 29. He was in Texas and signed up for another term of service. He was in Wyoming and was called to help fight the Indians in Uintah Basin and served in Fort Thornburg. He was sent to Ft. Douglas, UT (near Salt Lake City) and was released from duty. While in Salt Lake he married Eliza Jane Bethers. There is a family by the name of Osick that entered US in about 1835 in Baltimore. One of them carried the name of August. Joanna was married in Balitmore and is found in extraction records in IGI of the LDS CHURCH. Anyone with more info please contact at kmoore2002@home.com Karen Moore

Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Md/BaltimoreCity/2797 Surname: Purcell, Stubbs, Minor, Massey ------------------------- William Nelson Purcell married Martha Stubbs. Their son, Peter Purcell was born 2-20-1790 in Baltimore, Maryland. His brother,"Thomas Nelson Purcell" (b. 4-13-1792)was probably born in MD also. I am hoping Thomas Nelson Purcell is the husband of Ann Minor. This couple lived in Gloucester, VA. by 1830.

    1. [MDBALT] Rider, Frankforter, Street
    2. Hi Folks-- I am hoping that someone on this list can help me with the family of Daniel RIDER, son of John Rider. Daniel was born about 1806 and married in Ashtabula Co., OH in 1832 to Jemima Street. Daniel Rjider had at least 2 brothers, Henry and Jacob. Finding out about John Rider, Daniel's father has been difficult. He may be the John Ritter/Rutter/Rider who was born about 1765 and married about 1788 in Baltimore or Carroll Co., MD to Catharina FRANKFORTER. Catharina was dau. of Johann Nicholas Frankforter and was born about 1770 near Manchester, Carroll Co., MD. I will appreciate it if anyone can tell me the names of the children of this John Rider and Catharina Frankforter -- especially if they had a son named Daniel. Thanks, Sue Streett
