Posted on: BaltimoreCity County Md. Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Md/BaltimoreCity/3080 Surname: MINTER ------------------------- I'm researching any MINTER in the Baltimore area. In particular those who may have worked during the steelworkers strike in 1959-60. He had a son and a very ill wife in 1960. Also, any MINTER who worked for any electric companies. Also a female, b. around 1902/03, married to a MINTER, she left Baltimore in 1939 and migrated to NYC area with her daughter and possibly sons. She had a daughter b. in Sept/Oct 1926 (this daughter also had a daughter whose name is Patricia Minter b. 1945 in NY). Female b. 1902/03, also divorced Mr. MINTER, married another gentleman and then was suppose to remarry Mr. MINTER around 1960 when he would have retired from the electric company, in Baltimore. They may have had two sons; one a longshoreman, married, with 6 children, possibly living in NY in 1960 and the other son was married with no children and worked for an electric company in 1960. While in NYC she worked for the NYC Board of Education from 1946-1960 as a clerical worker in a public high school. If this is even vaguely familar please respond. Thank you.

There is a mention of a John P. Boyd living on Patapsco Ave. in the 1890 Baltimore directory. They had one son, John William Boyd born October, 1876. He supposedly ran a tobacco store in Baltimore City. This has been a very frustrating needle in my haystack. Anyone who can be of help, I thank you for your kindness. Debbie

I am still working on putting the pieces together. I was back there this summer and saw the beautiful farmland. There are alot of Rosiers still in the area. We seem to all stem from an Abijah Rosier born around 1810. Some went to PA, MO, OH, even possibly IA. I have contacts with other Rosiers. We are not as small as you might think--just spread out. -jeff

Hi everyone! What a wonderful job Gary has done compiling this website of photographs of Baltimore folks. I was delighted to see some "Ningard's" listed and would be eager to hear from Carolyn Behrendt who submitted these three photos. My great great aunt married a Charles Ningard(t) in 1865 in Baltimore and I'm hoping they are the same family as there is a Charles shown in one of the photos. Again, kudos to Gary. Keep up the GREAT work! Best, Elizabeth Culhane Fairport, New York

Hi All, Happy Thanksgiving. I'm new on this list. Just got back from a trip to Baltimore and searches in MD Archives. Now I'm excited to pursue my MD connections. I'm looking for the Charles Robert GWYNN family. I found them in the 1850 census in the 15th Ward with wife Mary, b. MD, two sons b VA, two sons and two daughters b MD. But they disappear from there in 1860. Obit from the Baltimore Sun in 1892 says they went "back to Virginia" at the outbreak of the Civil War and then returned to Baltimore. I'm wondering if they moved to a suburb by 1860, before heading back to VA. Anyone with any good suggestions?? I would welcome correspondence with other GWYNN searchers. Thanks, Fran in MN fjstachour@earthlink.net

Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Md/BaltimoreCity/3057 Surname: ------------------------- On the Baltimore City map which is linked to the Baltimore City MDGenWeb webpage there are large bold numbers from one to twenty printed around the map which do not relate to points of interest (for example the number 20 to the right of the legend in the top left corner). Are these city ward numbers or were they were used for another purpose? My gggreat-grandparents Henry and Ann JUDGE lived at 105 Ross Street (just below number 20 on the map) in the 1860s, and over the course of time that road seems to have disappeared.
