Posted on: BaltimoreCity County Md. Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Md/BaltimoreCity/3181 Surname: Stier, Patterson, Dulaney ------------------------- I am tracing my Stier family in Frederick County (New Market), Baltimore, and eventually to Harford County. I see on the Maryland State Archives site about Medical Care in Baltimore a listing for Draper and Stier, Botanical Physicians, in the Baltimore City Directory for 1837-8. The site also lists an Alexander Draper, botanical physician, in the same year's directory, but no separate listing for a Stier with a first name. There is an excellent chance that this Stier is one of "my" Stiers, but I can't figure out who it could be. Quite possibly another early relative I haven't discovered yet. So am hoping to find someone who can share information. Susan Link: Buyer, Stier and Related Families URL: <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~susanb/>

Posted on: BaltimoreCity County Md. Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Md/BaltimoreCity/3177 Surname: Butler ------------------------- Looking for information about William Butler and his family. There is a William Butler who married my great great aunt, Ann Elizabeth Mattingly, in DC on April 20, 1848. He is listed as formerly of Baltimore. I'm wondering if they may have resided eventually in Baltimore as she married husband #2, Jacob Rimby, in Baltimore in 1852 and perhaps William Butler was deceased between 1848 and 1852. Thanks!
Hi. I have a cousin who is seeking the name: Adolph John ASHER Born Baltimore, September 6, 1897, and died, Baltimore, March 29, 1934. His maternal grandfather was Adolph HOLZER. Parents were: Harry and Mary Rosedelema HOLZER. Harry was a printer. Can anyone help with Adolph? Thanks, Vince Summers
Hi, everyone! Checked out an 1848 National Intelligencer (Washington, DC) today through the fine interlibrary loan system. I found my great great aunt's marriage listed as "on the 20th instant, by the Rev. Littleton F. Morgan, Mr. William Butler, formerly of Baltimore, to Miss Ann Elizabeth Mattingly, of this city." That would be April 20, 1848. Would anyone on the list know of any William Butler or Butler families in the Baltimore area prior to 1848? Would appreciate hearing from you! Best, Elizabeth Culhane Fairport, New York

Posted on: BaltimoreCity County Md. Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Md/BaltimoreCity/3170 Surname: Kane, Flynn ------------------------- You don't say if you know exactly WHICH Catholic cemetery in Baltimore City. New Cathedral Cemetery (earlier called Bonnie Brae) is called the Archdiocesan cemetery. It is located at 4300 Old Frederick Rd in Baltimore City. You can write them for information or call the office at 410-566-7770. It is a very large, active cemetery. They have been very helpful to me; when I asked about a certain surname they were able to give me a computer printout of all people interred there with that surname and the date of burial. I recently received a copy of the June 26, 1889 obit page of the Sun from the Pratt Library. There is an obit included for Mary Ann Flynn, daughter of Mary and the late John Kane. Mary Kane lived on Eastern Ave. Let me know if you want the entire obit. If you know the date of death for your Mrs. Kane, you can email the Pratt from their web site and they will look up and send you the obit--I believe it's up to 6 pages free. I have a Susan Alice Kane, who married Robert Marion Hunter in my ancestry. I don't have any information about her as she is in my father's line and I haven't done much with that yet. I don't have her birth or death dates, but she had a son in 1875.
