This puts Sallie E. as the probable daughter of Edward Norwood and Eliza Standiford. The reason I say probable is that all the info is right but the only name that I have for the dau of Edward and Eliza is Sarah. I also found Stephen and Sallie E. and their 6 children in the 1900 census. I found a Stephen Lusby of the right age in the 1920 census but the wife is wrong. Possible widower? Also found son Frank W. and family in the 1920 census for Balt. Let me know if you want that data. Kitty Crowley

Catharine, One of your names is of interest to me, namely BRINK. ANTON BRINK married ELISABETH WILHELM on 5 October 1845 in St. James Catholic Church, Eager St., Baltimore, MD. ANTON & ELISABETH had 14 children that I know of so possibly your BRINK just might be descended through those children. There are several of us looking for info on the BRINKS so your response might be helpful to us. If any of this looks familiar, I have much more info that I can pass on. Frank Kuhn flask1@att.net

Posted on: BaltimoreCity County Md. Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Md/BaltimoreCity/13382 Surname: Kennedy, Kane, Kenny, Rafferty ------------------------- The earliest members of my Kennedy family arrived in Baltimore around 1849 and I've learned that they are buried in St. Vincent's cemetery near Clifton Park. They married into the Kane, Kenny, and Rafferty families and these families may also have members buried here. I've been unable to find any information about this cemetery. I've tried the Maryland State Archives, city directories, and Maryland Historical Society and I can't find any records. I am planning a trip to Baltimore and would like to know more about this cemetery and possibly contact the curators to find out what they may know of the burials of my relatives. Does anyone living in baltimore know about this cemetery?

Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Md/BaltimoreCity/13380 Surname: Weber, Guerke, Brink, Joyner, Inners, Leonhardt, Bradley, Prunty, Hartman, Rapp ------------------------- MARYLAND, BALTIMORE CITY I'm looking for living relatives in these families. We wish to share records, photos, stories, etc. with family members. I need plenty of info both forward and backward to complete our family history. All of these families are from the Baltimore City area of Maryland with the possible exception of the Joyners which may come from the Eastern Shore around Rock Hall. (And may have a connection to Native Americans of that area.) (Our Hammond branch, my father's, originated in the area around Altoona, Pa. He is the only of his immediate family to come to Maryland, to my knowledge.) Looking for: Hammond, Weber, Guerke, Brink, Joyner, Inners, Leonhardt, Bradley, Prunty, Hartman, Rapp, and Myers. More distant relations (mostly by marriage) include: , and Fletcher?. (Many of these by marriage I have very sketchy info on, so I may not be able to establish much of a link until I've done some much more exhaustive research.)
Posted on: BaltimoreCity County Md. Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Md/BaltimoreCity/13379 Surname: Bosley ------------------------- Erik, I just posted an obit that was on the same page as my great grandfather's. It was a Bosley, though I don't have a clue if they are relations of yours. I just noticed the surname in the lists. It was for a Samuel Scott Bosley, who died on December 6, 1917. He was the husband of the late Florence Neely, son of the late Samuel and Cecillia Scott Bosley. His address is listed as 108 West North Avenue with burial at Western Cemetery. It is listed verbatim in the obituaries list. I hope this helps.

Wilhelm, daughter of Mary A. and John Wilhelm. Sister of Anna C. Trueschler. She died July 9th, 1926. I don't know if she is related to you, but I had just posted her obit because it was on the same page of the newspaper as my great grandmother's obituary and I thought someone might eventually need her info. I hope this helps with your search.

Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Md/BaltimoreCity/13377 Surname: Gosnell ------------------------- Ran across a reference to the surname Gosnell as being among the dead in the tiny Biddison Family Cemetery in Baltimore, MD. It interested me because I know some modern day Gosnells here in Baltimore. Then I found your message in the queries. The cemetery is supposed to be "off of Biddison Avenue at the top of Oaklyn Avenue, which is not far from me. I have not been there, however. The burials are said to have been made between the mid 1850s and the early 1900s and supposedly also include the surnames Forrester, Brown, Henkel, Millechop, Sindall, Burgan, Barber and Dietrich. If you need me to make a trip to the cemetery to find out specific given names (if possible) I can probably do that as the weather warms up. Just let me know via email.
Posted on: BaltimoreCity County Md. Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Md/BaltimoreCity/13376 Surname: Leidner ------------------------- MARYLAND, BALTIMORE CITY Tim, The information you have requested on Western Cemetery is, as much as I can find, below. Western Cemetery (as listed in "The Very Quiet Baltimoreans" by Jane B. Wilson, 1991) is located at 3001 Edmondson Avenue. It was established in 1850 and still operates. The records are alleged to be held (at least in part) at the offices of Beechfield United Methodist Church, 541 South Beechfield Avenue, Baltimore, MD. This is assuming that you are actually looking for Western Cemetery and not the Western Potters field which is now underneath a school, I doubt with any exhumations. (The city abandoned the practice of potter's fields long ago and you probably would not be looking for one unless your relation was so poor as to have no one to pay for a decent burial.) If I can be of further help, let me know. I live in Baltimore.

Posted on: BaltimoreCity County Md. Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Md/BaltimoreCity/13374 Surname: Loewenstein ------------------------- MARYLAND, BALTIMORE CITY "First German Cemetery (on June 20, 1894). Opinions differ on the identity and location of this cemetery. Any help would be greatly appreciated. He is my great-grandfather." I have a copy of a book called, "The Very Quiet Baltimoreans" which may be of help to you. It is by Jane Bromley Wilson, 1991, from the White Mane Publishing Company, Inc. According to this book, the cemetery you may be referring to no longer exists. It appears in two places in the book... First let me address the "Vanished Cemeteries" section which calls this the "First German United Evangelical Cemetery" or "Bosse Cemetery". It places the cemetery at the intersection of East Avenue and Dillon Street. This record also claims that it received burials from 1850 - 1877, which was before the date you address. The book claims that the cemetery was 2 acres owned by this congregation which later started the "Schwartz" or First United Evangelical Cemetery in 1877. It states that reinterments were made from the old plot into the new. This much said, we can now address their existing cemetery... First United Evangelical Cemetery "Schwartz" is listed in their protestant cemeteries section as being located at 6115 O'Donnell Street and in operation from 1877 to the present. The information mostly concerns itself with the establishment, price, etc. of the cemetery. However, it does state that the records of this cemetery are to be found at the Maryland Historical Society here in Baltimore. The word German was removed from the name of this cemetery in the WWII era due to anti-German sentiments, however it is alleged to have the inscription, "Gottsacher Derestend Ver. Ev. Germinde" over the entrance. They translate this to mean, "God's acre of the German Evangelical Church." This is only a few miles from my home, and I may be able to help you to look for a relative or two if you are far from Baltimore. Please email me if you'd like me to try.
