Hannah was also born in MD.circa 1815.Their children were:William,Benjamin,John,Thomas Carter(my line),George Washington,Mary,Wesley,Frederick,Cassandra & Esther. All of the children were born in various counties in OH. but mostly Monroe.Most of the family moved to Wapello Co.,IA. by the 1870 census;except for William,George & Thomas. All three were listed in the Baltimore City Directories at the same addresses during the 1870's and 1880's, and maybe into the early 1900's. Lacking the dates of death, I have been unable to search for obituaries in Baltimore City.

He was a Baltimore City Solicitor during the administration of Mayor James Preston at the beginning of the 20th century. S.S.Field Sr. was from a farm in The Plains,Fauquier Co.,Va. His parents were;Samuel Field and Sarah V.Summers Field. I think that S.S.Field Sr. was born about1852-1862? He was married to Marie Wood Crook. I am sure that Marie Wood Crook and her sister;Charlotte Crook House were from Baltimore City,Md. S.S.Field Sr. and his wife had three sons;Samuel Summers Field II,Bryan Harris Field and Benjamin Wood Field,(now deceased).I think that Marie Wood Crook Field died at Keswick Home for Incurables in Baltimore City,Md.around 1935-1945? I also believe that she was buried in Greenmount cemetary in Baltimore City,Md.? Charlotte Crook House was married to Ulysses S.Grant House and lived in the Walbrook area of Baltimore City,Md. They had a daughter named;Charlotte,(now deceased). I think that Samuel Summers Field Sr.died in Baltimore City,Md. around 1918-1922? I would like to find an obituary for him if possible? Gosnell b. abt. 1837, MD and Sarah J. Simmons b. abt. 1848, MD. Based on census records, I believe that the parents of George were Peter Gosnell b. abt 1801 and his wife Mary b. abt. 1808. He was born in the Bahamas in 1845, and came to Baltimore at a young age with a man named Henry Evans. He worked in the pineapple canning industry, and died in Baltimore in 1931. He married Mary Hooper (1848-1920) and had at least two children: H. Evans Smith and Robert Tynes Smith, Jr. I also found that there is a Robert Tynes Smith, III, b. 1909 who has a Ph.D. from George Washington University in mathematics.
