Good luck. I had some people burried there too and still can't find them. I've been told that many of the graves were moved to Holy Redeemer. There are even stories of a mass grave of some of these people. If family members new of the removal they were allowed to have their loved ones moved to where ever they liked. I recommend checking the interment records at other German Catholic churches like St. Michael's or Sacred Heart of Jesus. These records can be found on micro film at the Hall of Records in Annapolis. Once again Good luck. Steve Hessler, Ebert, Wilhelm, Hasenei, Haas, Bocklage, Winterling, Brink, Foertsch
We are searching for anyone with knowledge of Delores Stout Douglas who was living in Baltimore around 1943 or 1944. Delores was born in 1923 in Kentucky and lived in Virginia before going to Baltimore with her mother, Pearl Mullins Stout. They lived at 316 S. Pulaski St. Delores would have been about 21 when she was in Baltimore. She was married to Ray Douglas but was considering a divorce at the time. If you have any information about any of these people, please email.
I dont know of the people you are talking about. But my grandfather's name was Alfred Koeneke. He was born in 1908, and married Bernice. I was just wondering if you knew if he is related to a Jon Phillip and Sophia Staas. I'm just wondering.
John STEELE (12 Aug 1804 - 28 July 1867) married Elizabeth EDWARDS LINVILLE STEELE (17 June 1818 - 16 Nov 1903) on 15 April 1851. They had at least one child, John Wesley Steele, born in 1852. Elizabeth EDWARDS first married Thomas LINVILLE in 1849. Thomas died in 1850 at the age of 43. I believe that Elizabeth's parents were James (1784 - 19 Dec 1851) and Susan (1793 - 6 June 1870) EDWARDS. The first geographic location I can make on any of them is that John Wesley STEELE was in Lanham (Pr. George's Co.) in 1893 when he became minister of Lanham Methodist Church; however, I know that he lived "close to Baltimore" some time before then. Would like to know about John's parents as well as the Edwards. Any information? Please contact me directly at debbylynnr@care2.com Thanks!

Do you think that this man could have been a Justice of the Peace? Just a thought....
Has anyone heard of a minister named A. J. Torrey in the Baltimore City (or county) area performing marriages in the early 1900's? My g.grandmother was married August 1910 by A. J. Torrey. I've come to a complete halt in my research of her and her family, and thought that if I'm able to discover this minister's FULL NAME and the CHURCH he was affiliated with, I'd have better luck. I'v contacted most of the old churches in the Roland Park area where my g.grandmother was staying with relatives, and none of them had any record of this minister. If anyone has information on this man, I'd be greatly appreciative if you would contact me. Thanks in advance!
St Alphonsus Cemetery, I believe that most of the remains were reinterred ar Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery on Belair Rd. But better still, call the Catholic Archdiocese on Cathedral St. and ask for Father Paul Thomas. He is the Archivist for the archdiocese and he should be able to give you the correct information. They were reinterred. But where. It turned out it was very easy. Just get records from that cemetery where the persons children were buried, and you will most likely find the guy who died in 1889 was probably reinterred in the childs lot. Long before that child used it. That is main reason people bought burial plots long before they died in the years 1900, 1910, etc. The main cemeteries downtown were being all sold off because they were so valuable as real estate. St Alphonsus gave people about 30-50 years to remove their loved ones. They were really sensitive to things in those days. God bless you. Hope you can find them. And go write to the cemetery a second time if necessary, stressing you are looking for a copy of the drawing of the plot. The info you want may just be written in the margin of the hand drawn plot layout. Reinterment may have just been a quick thing done during a day off, or on a Sunday. Divide Balto into 4 Quadrants. Then find the cemetery most likely to be the one..... The one closest to the most controlling, domineering older sybling. Every good Catholic family had & has one of them!!! Hee Heee Heee... Hee Heee Heee......... Hee Heee Heee... Hee Heee Heee.. tsk tsk, and I call myself a Catholic Christian. Now I have to go to tell the priest. I expect Sister Assumpta to come by my chair here at any minute and swat my head for saying that. Love, Paul

Hi, While I don't know if any of this on the Internet, a 1996 issue of Everton's Genealogical Helper magazine ran this review: "Civil War Burials in Baltimore's Loudon Park Cemetery" (1996), pub. Maryland. By Anna MILLER WATRING. Available from Clearfield Company, Inc. 200 E. Eager St., Baltimore, MD 21202. Soft-cover, 81 pages, $12.00 + $3.50 (#9579). The Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore was founded in 1853 and is one of the largest cemeteries in the world. Some 2,300 Union soldiers and at least 650 Confederate soldiers are buried in the cemetery. In 1981, the data in this book was hand-copied from the original Loudon Park Interment books by Robert W. BARNES. These books are now lost, so it is possible the information in this book may not exist elsewhere. The soldiers are listed alphabetically along with rank, military attachment, age, date of burial permit or death, cause of death, hospital or place of death and gravesite.
