I have in my family file a Stella Rosalia Staines who was married to a Bankard and had 4 children, Roy, Evelyn, Helen, and Vernon. She then married Albert Hare and he raised the the children. Do not know the Bankard children's fathers first name or what happened to him. Most likely he died. Roy Bankard married Katherine Sharrer and they had 4 children. Thomas R., Robert, and twin girls Perry and Betty. Perry married a Bratton and Betty married a Trueblood. Roy T. Bankard was a Col. in the USAF. He died 2/3/1990, he was born 11/12/1903. I can give you info on Stella's family if you it. That is all I have on the Bankard family. Please email direct at Skcm23@aol.com Hope to hear from you, Anita

Todd's Inheritance Home, Land and Cemetery Baltimore County, Maryland - Just goto http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~chrystiem/albums/md/baltoco/northpoint/todds/ Chrystie@hotamil.com

Hi all, Ironic, I live in Baltimore County, Maryland and as a hobby I take photos of old cemeteries/churches/towns/homesteads and upload them to my rootsweb website. Well, I just uploaded, not two days ago the TODD Homestead and Cemetery. Just goto http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~chrystiem/albums/md/todds/ enjoy. Oh, I can't tell you anything else about this line, they are not in my lineage, I just live in the area. The house is rumored to be haunted and belive it or not, an actual TODD descendant, whom sits on the Maryland - Baltimore County Board that votes "pro or con" on bills that would substantially help this "ailing" homestead voted "NAY" against his own families historial site. The TOOD Home and 1700 acres once owned by this line had the property in their posession for over 300 years, and it was only 2-3 years back that the last of the TODD'S gave it to Baltimore County. And no one wants to pay for the upkeep. No one. Not the Maryland Historical Society; Not Baltimore County, Not even our Govenor GLENDENING - he's a worthless something or another. Anyway, if you bookmark the site I will add more information as I go. The TODD Home/Property is right off of 695 beltway and sits on the left side of the pennisulal called "Miller's Island/Edgemere". It's very near the Northpoint area of Fort Howard and very close to Ft. McHenry, Baltimore City, Maryland. Read about how the TODD'S help save Baltimore in the Revolutionary Days.

Hello- This information comes from four pages torn from a small bible that were inserted in a larger Bible that was in the possession of my mother's family, the Mussers. The Fanny Davis referred to in these pages married Henry Ross Musser. So far as we know, all events occurred in Baltimore except as noted. I am hoping someone on the list can connect to the Davis/Armistead family. Who are John Davis (the father) and Frances Armistead? I cannot tie Frances to the family of the famous George Armistead, defender of Baltimore during the War of 1812. I'd be happy to send a scan of the pages to anyone who is interested. John Davis b. 1 Mar 1794, married Frances Armisted, 16 May 1816. Fanny Davis d. 25 Aug. 1849. Their children: David Davis, b. 9 March 1819, d. 25 Aug. 1846. Sarah Ann Davis, b. 7 Jul 1821. John Davis, b. 15 Dec 1823, d. 9 Feb. 1850. Mary Isabell Davis, 24 Jan. 1826, married John C. Echert 11 Nov. 1851; d. 7 Jan. 1853. Joseph Henry Davis, b. 25 Mar 1828; married Mary Ann Groom 30 Oct. 1851. Barbara Ann Davis, b. 14 May 1830. Frances Jane Davis, b. 4 Mar 1832. Thomas Reese Davis, b. 27 Sep. 1834. Robert Armsted Davis, b. 11 Sep. 1836. Margaret Davis, b. 6 Aug 1838. In addition, from the Musser Bible itself, we know that Frances Jane Davis m. Henry Ross Musser 25 Nov. 1856 (presumed to be Baltimore), and died 16 Sep. 1872 in Lynchburg, VA. Baltimore newspaper records confirm some of the above dates: In the Baltimore American, marriage notice for John Davis and Frances Armistead, "last Thursday, by Rev. Wells, all of Baltimore," notice published 21 May 1816. In the Baltimore Sun, death notice for Jno. Davis, Jr., 9 Feb. 1850; and marriage notice for Joseph Henry Davis, 30 Oct. 1851, to Mary A. Grooms. Christie Brown
I have just recently found that my Gr-Gr-Grandmother's name was Amalie Wilhemine BERNHARDT. She was married to John SCHOEN who was b. Aug 1850 in Germany. They had several children, but she is absent on the 1900 Baltimore City Census and thus I assume she died. I would like to speak to anyone researching the BERNHARDT name in Baltimore City. Thanks.
The Maryland Tombstone Transcription Project page has been updated and totally revamped. Please check it out at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~cemetery/maryland.html A bit of "PR" WANTED!! Maryland Tombstone Photographs and Transcriptions The Maryland USAGenWeb Archives has embarked on a project to collect photographs of tombstones in Maryland Cemeteries. The goal is to have an on-line text transcription of Maryland cemetery records and headstones via the Maryland Tombstone Project plus photographs of the headstones via the Maryland Tombstone Photo Project. We are not asking that you adopt a Maryland cemetery, buy a digital camera and photograph every tombstone, although that would be terrific <smile>. We are simply asking that you share the photos you already have of headstones that you have taken in Maryland cemeteries during the course of your research. We need "sharp, tightly cropped" photos of headstones taken close enough to read the engraved text instead of general area or family plot cemetery photographs. The project goal is to document the information on the grave markers so researchers who can't visit the cemetery themselves have a "first generation" source for their kind's grave marker in addition to the volunteer text transcriptions. Subscribers with headstone photos to donate please contact me directly for submission details.
