He had a brother, Justus Henri Kuehne, who would be my great great great grandfather. From what I understand, Augusta fought in the American Revolution as a Captain from the 7th Light Infantry (Hessian) German. He is buried in Baltimore Cemetery. Justus had a son, Henry Justus Kuehne and he had a son Henry Kehne. (Henry dropped the u from the last name.) Henry was married twice and had a son, Charles, by his first marriage and then Justus, William, Pauline, Sophia, Regina, and Viola by his second marriage to Regina Steinrucken. Does any of this sound familiar?

I went to the Pratt Library today, prior to your last response. In any envent, I found no Eugene Downs listed despite looking in multiple years of the Baltimore City Directory. The Baltimore City Directory was not printed in 1920. I did copy a page of Downs listed in the 1918 & 1919 combined Baltimore City Directory in case something looks familiar to you, and will put in the mail tomorrow morning. Irene

Such as alternate names, or a possible address during that time period. I am certain there may be more than one Downs, was he the head of household at the time. What would his approximate age have been lets say for 1920? This may help me in finding him in the directory. From my own experience in searching names in the Balto City Directory I found the name spelled wrong, but could idenified them by the street address or known names of other household members. Anyway, if you have any other idenifying information this may help before I look. Irene
