Is anyone research the family of John Porter who was born in Carrollton in 1737? Carrollton at that time was part of Baltimore County. About 1767 John Porter married Nancy Ann McKenzie d/o Moses and Nancy Jane Porter McKenzie. Does anyone know which family of Porters that Nancy Jane Porter came from? Any help gratefully accepted. Reg, MD. and his service record lists his name as McMechen, McMackin and McMacken. He married Mary Hayes of Phila., Pa. They had at least 3 children: Margaretta Virginia born Aug. 10, 1874 and she married Charles Moore, Harry F. Mackin, and Thomas H. Mackin.
