    1. [MDBALT] Joshua Wright c. 1747 "Chapman's Fellowship" Baltimore County
    2. Hello, I am seeking information re: my possible ancestor Joshua Wright, who, in 1747, was bequeathed a tract of land in Baltimore County called Chapman's Fellowship. This land was left to Joshua by his father, Edward Wright of Dorchester County. I was wondering if anyone on the list is familiar with the history of the land tract Chapman's Fellowship and how it may have come into the possession of the Wrights, who, to my knowledge, seem to have had no other ties to Baltimore apart from this particular property. Many thanks! Becky Olenchak [email protected]

Edward's siblings were Catherine, George and William Heinbuch. Their parents were Thomas Heinbuch (born in Hesse Darmstadt, Germany) and Elizabeth (Louisa) Unknown (born in Saxe Weimer, Germany). Edward's family was from the East Baltimore area. Thomas and his wife are buried in Trinity Cemetery, another poorly managed cemetery, close to St. Paul's on O'Donnell St in East Baltimore. Do you know of any connections between our families?

I have relatives listed on a Williamson Street in the 1900 Census (enumeration district 305). On the same page of the census, Warren Ave and a William St. are also listed. Although I find William Street on a current map, I don't see a Williamson Street. I thought the spelling may be the enumerator's error, but I came across a Williamson Street in the 1880 census, and again it was within a few pages of William street, and listed between Hope Alley and Abby Alley. (Do these alleys still exist?) I would appreciate any help from those of you familiar with Baltimore. Thanks, A.M.

    1. [MDBALT] Cook/Koch Florist
    2. Giurintano, Karen
    3. Hello, I am searching for information on any Cooks or Kochs who were florists in Baltimore circa 1860-1915. My GGGrandfather Mathew [Mathias] Cook [Koch] (1849-1932) came from Bad Durkheim, Germany to New Orleans (around age 21) via Baltimore. It's possible he spent a few years in Baltimore before arriving in New Orleans in 1870. His marriage license shows an Adolph Koch (possibly father or brother?) as a witness. A newspaper clipping celebrating his 40th wedding anniversary indicates his father was a florist in Baltimore. Mathew was a florist in New Orleans. The text of the clipping appears below: ************* Excerpted from the Daily Picayune, New Orleans, LA, July 1912 Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Cook on Thursday night at their home, 502 Millaudon street, celebrated the fortieth anniversary of their marriage. More than 100 guests, many of them relatives of the family, were at the dinner and the dance that followed. Mr. Cook is a leading florist of Carrollton. He came here from Germany forty-two years ago, and has been in the flower business since that time. His father and grandfather were florists in Baltimore and Germany. Mrs. Cook, before her marriage was Miss Carrie Rehm. They have four children, two sons and two daughters, and five grandchildren. ************** Any help is much appreciated. I will be happy to help anyone looking for New Orleans-related information in exchange. Thank you, Karen Cook Giurintano New Orleans LA
