His name was Carl Hillis Mangle. I'm not sure what county, but I was told it was in Baltimore. He perhaps was buried in a paupers (potters field) cemetery as his family did not claim his body. He was born in Illinois in 1896 and eventually he moved to Connecticut. I have census records from 1920 and 1930 and at this time he was married and had two children. In the SSDI there is a Carl Mangle listed, this is his son. He only passed away a few years ago. I know the family was contacted when my ggf died, but it is unknown why they didn't claim him.

He was from England and married my grandmother, Dorothy Cameron, in 1924 or so (in Brown City, Michigan) and had two children: my mother Mary Lou (deceased) and uncle William (I believe he is deceased, as well). Edward abandoned his family, moved back to England (or perhaps, Canada) divorced my grandmother and married another women (I do not know her name). While I think this was a crappy thing to do, I'd still like to know about that family lineage. If this was of any help and I can help you further, please let me know.

And yes -- she was 101 years old. I will have the obit posted at my site through July 2002. If you see this after that time and would like a copy, please request through my site. The obit states that her mother was married to Cuthbert Warner, Maryland's first clockmaker. There is no mention of Elizabeth's husband. http://www.debsgenie.freeservers.com Once at the site, use the menu at left to go to "Old Seabrook and Lanham." the obit is the 2nd item down. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AFB.2ACI/3602 Message Board Post: I am looking for any info on the following family members; my g-g-grandfather was John G. Lighthiser, born in Baltimore around 1841 (his parents were from Saxony, Germany), he was a baker and his shop was located at 833 Comerce St. His first wife was named Ann, and they had one son, George. His second marriage was to a Dora Pritchett from Virginia and they had Theodore John Lighthiser in 1877 (my g-grandfather). I believe 2 more children were to follow, Annie and Emil. Theodore is listed in 1900 census of Baltimore, along with his 2 siblings, as having lived with his aunt and uncle, Georgia and Emil Mezger. In March of 1901, Theodore married Dorothea E. Sauerland, of New Jersey (I think) and they had relocated to Sharps, Virginia where they had 5 children. Beatrice Christina was born in 1902 (my grandmother), Dorothea Eleanor in 1904, Theodore John in 1909..there were 2 more brothers but I don't know their names. Theodore is buried in Burlington County, New Jersey beside his mother and I think his son, Theodore, who lost his li! fe at sea during WWII. Anyone who has information on this family please email. My g-grandfather was John August Werner of Baltimore. I am not certain but I think he was a painter at one time. His first wife he had 2 sons, Henry August (my grandfather) and Christian F. Mother had died in childbirth. I believe her last name was (forgive the misspelling) Lundslager; John's second wife was Mary Schwab and they had one daughter Ruth, born in 1918. I never met my grandfather for he died from alcholism before my mother married. That's all I know of this line so if anyone out there who happens to know anything please email. Thanks so much.
